And here is why.
There have been people who have literately torn apart the Vault trying to figure out what you could possible do to make some kind of other chest appear in the game. Putting out fires, not killing the fanatics Vs templar, destroying gorgon after gorgon, and even going as far as to kill Atheon without times vengeance.
Yet, people want to keep assuming there is some hidden chest, some kind of wonder that we haven't gotten yet because "A dev said there was". If there truly was then why not give us a hint at what the secret could involve. With everyone that has tried to tear the secrets from the vault you would think there would be something to it, but alas, in five months and all these tries bungie and it's devs have yet to see fit to even give us a riddle to solve in this or even a vague picture.
In my honest opinion, this is a clever little ploy to pander to those who don't seem to have good enough reasoning skills to put the thing together or do enough research. So, Let's look at some facts.
Fact 1: As stated before, dozen upon dozens of people have tried a grand number of things in the vault to try to get some sort of chest to open and this all started 5 MONTH AGO WHEN THE VAULT RELEASED. Now...as well hidden as some secrets in bungie games have been....the secrets have never been so hidden that NO ONE has found out anything within 5 months of the games release. Let's look at Halo 3 for the best example. Within I believe 3 months time there were already videos and guides on how to find each and every skull in the game. One of the most well hidden ones was made that you had to walk through the rings in a particular order just to get one of the skull, something you would have had to work at or know before hand before accomplishing. Even with the DLC with the hidden skulls withing hours someone had posted a map that led right to the skull on every new map.
Fact 2: Players are getting burned out on content and quitting til House of Wolves DLC or just getting on to play nightfalls and raid upon reset. When you have an online world with servers and saved characters it doesn't matter who you work for this starts to become a real issue, what is there to keep anyone interested in the game anymore? Sadly, even though people enjoyed it, a lot of people have started doing the same thing with Vault of Glass as they have with Crota's End and that is asking for checkpoints at easy chances at exotic (Deathsinger, Gorgon, Crota, and Atheon). Even then the people that have gotten all the exotics (that they want) have stopped all together unless they are helping friends or clans mates. What could possibly cause interest in a game that losing players every so often? Why a certain thing such a developer saying that there is another hidden chest in the vault of glass could do it. It would send droves of players back into their frenzied search for the new chest. Either way, the players would be stupid in believing this as it was said before that "Mysteries withing the vault no one had found" a month or so after it's release and still no one has found anything yet, or the devs are just assholes, lying to their fans just to make sure they have an ongoing player base.
Fact 3: Bungie has mislead people in the past. For those of you that played Reach you should remember the GRD helmet incident. This was where Bungie Devs "Accidentally" released a photo of a helmet variant that was "supposedly" in game. It increased the player base for a bit, due to the fact that people want to search everywhere to find out how to unlock the supposed helm only to later find out it was in a developer copy of the game only.
Any way you look at it there is no evidence to prove there really is a chest. "A dev said so" is not enough proof to justify people going crazy over something that, if it did exist, is only going to ascendant materials in it any ways. But, that is just my thoughts on this.

There are only 3 the first 2 are from gorgons lair and the 3rd one is from killing the templar without him teleporting
