Those crystals that come out of a enemy on death
Are those not orbs of light too? I swear I get more on the Super bar...

It's glimmer. All kills will add to your super. Glimmer visually drops from enemies when you have a consumable active or if they're majors/ultras. Expect to see it when you see the +## glimmer count pop up on the right side of the screen.

It's glimmer I believe. You don't get any unless you have a consumable odd enough
