I only have the vendor one, but I do like it better than my vendor Up For Anything (Can't seem to get an AR to drop for me anywhere). I think Field Scout is necessary to make it a real beast of a gun though. As is I like to run it in Crucible with Single Point Sling active and my Plan C it's a nice pairing.

I have the vendor bought one also, purchased just for PVP, it never even leaves my hunter. It is a beast. Field scout would ruin it for PVP. But, it sucks in PVE.
