Fans of the Vanquisher 8
First off, I just want too say I'm a big New Monarchy weapons and shaders fan. I have two of their shaders, and all the weapons except the rocket launcher, and the red hand unfortunately. Still waiting on the ship though, but I have plenty more ranks too burn through. Anyways, too the point. I was curious as to how many people prefer the V8 over other legendary Auto Rifles. I bought the one that the vendor sells, and honestly it wasent too hot.. But last weeks nightfall, I got another Vanquisher, this time with a stability perk, field scout, and third eye. It's pretty sweet! It now has a 42 round magazine, and the stability and radar perks really make a fine finish for this gun. What Perk rolls did you get for your Vanquisher?
Months later, I now have everything except the ship. One day, my friends. One day.

I still use my 300 v8 in crucible. With 3rd eye field scout and stability perk Such a good gun

Congrats to the New Monarchy for creating the worst legendary sniper rifle ever, the Prudence II. 6 impact? Whoa now. And I thought Preadyth's Revenge was bad. Dead Orbit's black shaders are way cooler.

Mine has a stability upgrade from the scope, it reloads faster when the mag is empty, reduces grenade cooldown when i kill an enemy and has flared magwell( which gives it a 100% reload speed)!

I got the Purifier VII (void) just the other night, and it has quickly replaced all other legendary fusion rifles as my favourite to use. It may not be the best from a stas perspective, but there's something between the stability, charge rate, and simple sights on the gun that hit a sweet spot for my play style. I haven't received the Vanquisher VIII yet, but I'm looking for to it! New Monarchy FTW!!

Mine has Persistence, longer fired more accurate, and Glass Half Full, bottom half of the magazine deals bonus damage. Along with Fitted Stock, it's like a Legendary Suros Regime without Focus Fire.

2 RepliesI only have the vendor one, but I do like it better than my vendor Up For Anything (Can't seem to get an AR to drop for me anywhere). I think Field Scout is necessary to make it a real beast of a gun though. As is I like to run it in Crucible with Single Point Sling active and my Plan C it's a nice pairing.

Those are all decent, had one drop with the NM shop perks and got rid of it after trying it out. I think it had persistence as the first perk, which was ridiculous - gaining stability the longer you fire a gun with a 22 shot mag? If you are going to limit the magazine size on the only AR with half-decent damage, why not give a reload perk? If I got a roll with field scout or reload perk, I would have kept it. It seems best suited to crucible, where I would rather pull out my Up For Anything with Reactive Reload, Field Scout (56)/Hammer Forged and Third Eye. Up For Anything does less damage, but has good stability, rof and better damage than the rest of the micro-damage ARs. So the V8 is one of the better ARs and can be pretty good with the right rolls, but it is a weak field to be the top of.

I have one I got from a drop that has Reactive Reload, Hammer Forged and Range Finder. Thinking this may come in handy after the weapon balancing due to all the increased range perks it has. Just wish I had the bigger magazine only 22 rounds without field scout. Seems like a solid auto rifle though. A lot better than those bullet hoses.

I have a couple of V8's only one has decent perks, none have field scout, thats why I like my "For The People" crucible auto have 56 rounds and the rate of fire is just a touch higher.

1 ReplyGot it from this weeks Nightfall. I'd wanted it for a while, ever since my Grim Citizen was outdated by TDB. I was kinda bummed about the 22 rounds, but just like my Grim, it rolled with Field Scout. The other perks are sheet, but compared to the high ROF low impact junk from the DLC, I love it. They seriously need a way to update legendaries, if we want. With a game that has such limited loot/variations, upgrading legendaries should be there.

Not a vanquisher guy, but I had a Grim Citizen IV. Third Eye, Field Scout, and quick reload with precision kill. Similar gun, and like the impact. The new guns have horrible impact. Depressing
