I've played around with them in patrols, and it's fun to take a huge leap on my titan land on a legionaire's head and one shot him just as I land. But in strikes the range just kills me. I always feel like if I'm not right in their grill the weapon won't kill them. And strike bosses forget about it. You're using special and heavy weapons to kill those guys and a shotgun simply isn't an option.
