Just thought I would share this nugget with everyone who hasn't heard about this bs.
Comcast broadcasts a second wifi signal through your Comcast router/ modem that can be used by anyone who has a comcast password and is within range of your router. I disabled the feature on my Comcast router a few weeks back and I noticed a significant decrease in data use and an increase in Internet speed. It is set "on" by default. You will see an "xfinity wifi" in your available networks. To disable you need your Comcast email and password. Sign in and go to wifi settings. It's the only option you can select. Opt out.

Its a two sided sword. People forget that the wifi hotspots broadcasted from Comcast' modems is day by day giving them more and more coverage; its a COMPLIMENTARY service they themselves are able to use elsewhere (provided they're xfinity customers) when they see the network available. It's a brilliant idea, albeit it is in fact a network broadcasted along side your personal network which can potentially interfere causing intermittent connections and/or slow speeds via WiFi over your personal network. It's all about those pros and cons. Imo, if you shut off your hotspot when it's not causing issues, you don't deserve access to the millions of other hotspots. It ain't -blam!-in welfare folks. Gotta give to receive or you're just a douche. Either way if you're gaming over wifi, odds are you still live with your parents and aren't paying for the Internet access anyways.
