My thinking was as it stands, there is no automatic firing special weapon (excluding shotguns/fusion rifles that have full auto). A SMG special could be similar to ARs, but have an unusually high DPS at close range, but more significant drop off at range either in the form of range or lack of stability. This way you could run a Scout Rifle for precision primary and SMG for a spray and pray special.
