In our last update, we talked about buffing pulse rifles and nerfing hand cannons and auto rifles, as well as shotguns and fusion rifles, although only slightly.
We've taken a look at stats regarding how you play the game and have seen that you're not playing the game the way we want you to. Pulse rifles have now jumped to 100% use given that they're better weapons than all other options. However, we don't want any class of weapon to be good. So we''ve reduced pulse rifle damage by 50%. However, we don't want other weapons to be significantly more lethal compared to pulse rifles, so everything else gets a 50% damage reduction as well.
Shotgun range is also far too lengthy. To combat this, you now need to be inside your opponent to be able to kill them. Fusion rifles - we'll leave those alone, because they're fine. However, you will now start with zero ammo for your special weapons, but you will be able to pick up two rounds of special ammo once per game.
We realise that these changes will extend combat encounters to the point where it will take half an hour to kill someone, but we don't care. Just as long as you play the game our way.
