Wait...you mean instead of assuming people don't use shotguns based on what you see you actually ask them why? That's just crazy.....

Here's the thing. Bungie is nerfing shotgun range, and what do people here complain most about in shotguns? Lack of range. They clearly don't know what they are doing at all with the nerf. They don't obviously use shotguns in PVE, so how would they know why only 1% of people use them. Thus this thread.

I know. And they don't ASK. That's my problem. Just watch and assume. Talk AT the community they will do, however they never talk WITH the community. Asking questions...requesting feedback....just doesn't happen really.

I wouldn't want the community to decide anything. The people in the community who can produce a well constructed argument are few and far between.

Frostbyte - I understand that sentiment but I'm not asking for the community to decide things. Listening to the community vs. doing what the community says are two different things. You're right there are those out there that can't make reasonable arguments, but ask questions. I've seen some garbage responses but I've also seen some well written thoughts that I think are worth at least exploring. All successful businesses get meaningless feedback...but they still listen and know how to sort it out. Right now our community manager doesn't try to engage or let us be part of the conversation. They watch...but don't ask why.

Yeah well... Deej says he's reading most of the comments. I just hope this gets some visibility with him. Maybe they could use the info from this thread as something to improve the shotguns. :) I'm just hopeful. I've actualy wanted to start this discussion for ages, but my other threads have just drowned to some other threads... as people don't care about shotguns in this game.

Arpis - I'm one of those individuals who doesn't use them but it's only because for me they haven't been effective. I got 4th horseman and it looks slick and the perks seem great but if the range drop off is going to be stronger then that's going to nerf that one even more since it is the weakest in range in its class.

Hahah yeah I saw my friend with it today. You basicaly have to hug the enemy to get any damage going on with it. I wonder how it will be after patch? You can't do any damage because it's not physically possible to get close enough to be in "range"? :D
