Following the fall of the Empire, the remaining members of the Empire's Finest find themselves exiled from the known galaxy. Cast out into the Unknown Regions, the band of former Stormtroopers find a distant planet called Earth, a place clearly ravaged by a devastating war. Finding the inhabitants were mostly humans under attack from hostile extraterrestrial forces the now disgraced members of the 501st Legion decide to intervene. Utilizing their elite training and understanding of military tactics, the new 501st takes up the banner of the Traveler and become its Guardians, promising to hold the line against the hostile invaders. Once the most feared troops in the galaxy, the new 501st looks to build a new reputation amongst a people that know nothing of their dark past.
