Eris Morn: Short Story

The only survivor who made it away from Crota’s Presence, but her other guardians did not share her luck. The darkness drove her mad, she knew if she did not get out of the darkness just like Xyor, the Unwed a guardian who was once led by light, but was consumed by darkness. Eris was going to share the same fate as he, she felt the change, she felt the darkness filling her lungs and replacing the light, the air, her life. She was transforming into a monster of the hive, like all guardians do when the darkness makes its way within them. Her eyes began to glow in an emerald yellow, shine, which she grew another right in the middle of her forehead. Seeing these changes Eris continued to discover a way to escape, but she was not alone. The hive knew she was there, they wanted Eris to suffer, they wanted her. She began weeping, but not regular tears. Tears of black blood flowed on her cheeks on to the floor, and that is when she knew, she was almost out of time. The hive would not let her leave, but she would not let them have their way. She made her way to the entrance of of Crota’s Lair and escaped. On her journey back to the tower, she found her ship, transforming into her new state, to suit her newfound needs. To destroy Crota, to avenge the fallen guardians that entered with her. She heard that one of the Vex leaders, Atheon has awoken and was alive in the Vault of Glass, but she knew that he was not the only threat and she needed to talk to the Speaker. She needed to tell him of Crota’s army. He is awake, enraged because of his father’s death Oryx. He promised to make all the guardians of the tower a member of his legion before he was to destroy it, and to make the Speaker one of his lowly Thralls. Soon enough Atheon was killed by a clan of Guardians called “PrimeGuard”. Then she arrived at the tower. Surprised that the Speaker was waiting for her by the steps of the tower. She did not need to speak he already knew of the danger, he asked a favor of Eris. To prepare the guardians for this epidemic. She sent them on various quests. To prepare them for a fate still unknown by many. A group of men and women called “Invigorate” accepted her series of trials to prepare themselves for the army of Hive waiting for them, and promised Eris this is will be Crota’s end. She weeped black blood today. Awaiting the members of the group that promised salvation, and in no time. At the steps of the tower. She was met with the Sword of Crota, paired with his eyes. The Guardians of “Invigorate” promised the demise of Crota and they delivered, but they did not know the full story. They did not only promise the demise of Crota, they also promised to end the pain Eris has felt for all these years while traveling to get here to see this to the end. Her pain is gone, and so is the light of the guardians that perished inside the Dark Below.
