Bungie needs to add a ranged titan super to Destiny, why?? because every class in Destiny has a ranged super besides for Titans. Warlocks can get midrange kills with the nova bomb, or get buffs with sun-singer, and Hunters can use Golden Gun. This lack of a projectile super becomes especially apparent during boss-fights.
The reason this came up was because I was playing the weekly heroic strike with three defender titans when the Summoning pits was the weekly heroic strike, so I decided to switch to Striker codex. However Fist of Havoc's attack just seemed to just roll off Phogoth instead of damaging him, and he would immediately counter by insta-killing me. So when I ask for a ranged super, I don't mean "long-range" or even "medium range", I just mean a projectable offensive super which can be used to damage a boss, while the player can still be far enough away from the boss not to get blasted by the bosses proximity attack (Some examples of proximity attacks would be; Phogoth and Archon priest both doing an insta-kill stomp, and Fallen Walkers releasing Arc grenades).
Also this 3rd subclass should be a solar damage subclass, because Titans only have Void and Arc subclasses for now. Also warlocks and hunters would be getting subclasses for their respective missing elemental type as well.

I hate to be that douche but your argument is overly one sided. As a Titan lover and being that Titan a lot of my friends call for when it's time to do strikes or play PvP. I WRECK with my supers. Striker- I rarely don't come in top 3 during PvP. FoH is amazing with death from above. Launching me across the map or flying into rooms to clear to. PvE I clear everything as we travel through rooms and if we ever get swarmed my FoH clear our way. While my counterparts have a bit more trouble since they have a ranges super. Whereas I can just jump and Death from above the space we need cleared. You don't always need to super a boss sometimes clearing the Ads is all that's needed and then utilizing some good gunplay to kill the boss Defender- My favorite PvE subclass. I can revive people safely. I can blind enemies who enter my bubble I can give my team Shields or more weapon damage. I can provide a distraction for bosses by dropping it clear in the open allowing my team to attack from all sides while he attacks me like an idiot and my drops orbs for my team with my tweaked bubble of greatness. In PvP we can cap flags easily or I can drop a bubble on a group of enemies and they can't see while my team just comes in and plays clean up. I can scare enemies from a cap cause they won't enter my Dojo which gives my team plenty of time to show up and help clean up. -blam!- a ranges super leave my Titan alone don't need a buff don't want a nerf. We titans are good peaceful killers who just wanna be left alone. Go cry about hunters or something let is titans be the "noobs" that wreck you when you underestimate us. Just learn to use what you got and you'll be good man. Our powers have so much potential once you get the right exotics and figure out your play style.

Striker titans are literally about punching things in the face. Why would they get a ranged power? Things are too far away to get punched? Then you're party would probably prefer you play defender with it's amazingly useful bubble shield to defend then against what are assuredly painful ranged attacks and generate orbs.

Pick up a car and throw it like the Hulk?
-
use the super on adds, not on phogoth. Hes actually just a big bullet sponge. The thing that might give you trouble in that strike is the adds, I dont see a problem here for the titans.
-
Maybe in a third subclass would be neat. I think a lightning spear à la Dark Souls would be neat.

Titian's don't need a ranged super. First off when you look at the titian description it says something along the lines of settling everything with their fists. But the main point in your argument was that you could not safely damage the boss with your super. That is probably the worst point I have heard for super buff/nerf topics. Bosses are bullet sponges and usually slow moving and easy to dodge. The things that really kill you in strikes and raids are the adds, or mobs w/e you call them. Your supper should never be used on the boss. PERIOD. That's why we have heavy amo. Supers should be used to clear out mobs and generate orbs of light to feed more supers, radiance and the titian buble are prime examples because those can benefit the rest of the team. If your using the super on the boss you were doing it wrong in the first place.
-
Why are you using your super on Phogoth anyway? Quit your bitching. Titans are CQB hence their armor Warlocks are mid ranged Hunters are long range and CQB.
-
Try a warlock or a hunter if you want a ranged super? Not a flame response, I'm really answering you here. I mean that's why there are three classes. Every option in one class would break the works.

Everybody claiming Bladedancer is OP while using a Titan or Warlock (mainly Titan) makes me laugh. You can kill a Bladedancer. Pretty easily. The only scenario I see a Bladedancer being OP (I use one so I should know) is in a small area cause we move to fast. Now let's look at facts: Things that can kill a Bladedancer (Quickest to slowest): -Any other class super -All forms of heavy ammo -Shotgun/Melee -Approx. 2 grenades -Headshots Things that can kill a Titan/Warlock(Void) -Virtually nothing and if you do manage to kill him during his animation he spawns Super Charged. Things that Make Bladedancer "OP": -Our speed/distance we can cover Things that make Titan: -There grenades! Same for Warlocks! Titans/Warlocks have the best grenades, I DARE somebody to argue this point -There 1 hit Shoulder charge that barely has a cool down -There Panic button with a crazy AoE -Barrier (if using defender) is so OP it's not even funny. A Bladedancer running into there ward will get HUMILIATED (believe me... I've tried) Tl;dr You can say my class is OP, I can prove how your class is OP

Lol Titans supers are a freaking joke. I hope the third class is bad ass
-
I actually thought maybe a solar clap. that explodes out like the bubble but is an explosion instead of a shield
-
Titans are supposed to be better at tanking damage, either through running in all guns blazing or by negating damage altogether. The titan technically can have range if you get the upgrade that let you jump in the air and then use the fists of havoc. That being said i would find it bad ass as a defender if you could shatter your shield outwards, breaking it but hitting enemies with the splinters.
-
Defender, weapons of light, rpg/sniper ? Or is that too obvious for range? Lol
-
Fist of havoc spoils never be used directly on the bosses, you'll die every time. It's power is in controlling the adds. Having 1 person with you who's super is dabbed for aping the forest pay off a wave of adds is awesome. Type tan will never get overwhelmed.

Edited by hellcat420: 10/5/2014 5:53:33 PMno titans do not need a ranged super(and i play a titan). you just suck and need to learn to play better.
-
Could be like instead of FOH you can like aim and shoot like a ka-me-ha-me-haa of some sort and when it hits something it blows up
-
Isnt Death from above technically ranged?
-
I disagree, the Titan doesn't need it. It would be nice if they had decent grenades, though.
-
no we don't need a range power, it would be op if we got that since we have more defence than the other classes. However, WE DO NEED A BETTER JUMP ABILITY, THE -blam!-ING WARLOCK/HUNTERS BLINK IS OP IN PVP!
-
My first character was a Titan, got to 27, rolled a warlock alt. I soon realized that Nova Bomb is the same thing as fist of havoc EXCEPT its ranged and has a better lingering effect.
-
I agree! Frustrating when you can't use a super and the others are shooting away! I just stick to the defender and when the others die I run over pop my bubble up and revive!
-
Then just use the shield, which protects you from ranged attacks
-
The part where you say please read entire post should be at top
-
All you need buddy is your Titan and a shotgun. Really doesn't matter what class you play with. I will admit when playing Control defender is the way to go.
-
Edited by Hene: 10/5/2014 5:18:14 PMI don't think supers are useful for strike bosses other than sunsingers fire reborn and Titans bubble shield. Anyway Titans with a range attack would be awkward to design. Though if it comes it comes nothing against it.

Seems like you chose the wrong class.
