Legendary Gear Guide

Hey guys I wanted to make a guide on how to get legendary gear for some of the new members stuck at lower levels. I know questions on how to get legendary gear and where to get it are frequently asked. 1. Level up the cryptarch through cashing in engrams. Once you have the cryptarch past level 3 he will give you gear each time you level him up. Once you are level 23-24 he will start leaving you legendary engrams for good weapons and gear. 2. Run the vanguard strike missions. Now that the vanguard strikes have been fixed you will get an engram for running them. With the engram system patched as well this will help you level up your cryptarch and get better gear from these strikes. If you want to do some of the higher level strikes to grab good gear just message the clan. We are always willing to help people get to higher levels. 3. The crucible is a great place for gear. While it may be frustrating at times patience is key. As you level up in the game the rewards passed down in the crucible will gradually become better. When I was at level 23 I got 3 pieces of legendary armor and my exotic auto rifle all through crucible rewards in one night. 4. Reputation grinding can be a fast and efficient way to get legendary gear. Depending on where you sit with your rep you will either want to start grinding the vanguard, crucible, or a third party faction. If you are of lower rank in the vanguard and crucible then picking a faction will work the best since they level up your rank utilizing both types of reputation. Just remember that if you are getting gear from the factions they use crucible marks as their currency. 5. XUR!!! If you haven't become acquainted with Xur yet I would try and get on tonight before he is gone to see if you have enough strange coins or motes of light to buy something off of him. He will be your go to guy for getting exotic weapons and your first piece of exotic gear. Armor from him generally cost 13 strange coins, guns are 23 strange coins, and his exotic engrams can be purchased for 23 motes of light. Xur shows up on Friday mornings at 4am and is gone by Sunday mornings at 4am. 6. Daily and Queen's missions. Every day you can complete a daily mission now and get an engram if the heroic modifier is active. The queen's missions will only be around until Tuesday, however if you have the chance make sure to ask some higher level clan members to run you through them. I just did this today and we leveled up one of the new members from level 21 to 23 in under an hour. It is some great starting armor and will boost you high enough to grab better rewards from the missions I posted above. If you guys have any questions or need help getting gear just message me.
