Something must be in the water in GM's corporate headquarters, like heavy metals or hallucinogens.
Ignitions, software, tie rods, and bake light wiring.
Some engineers in the company knew about the ignition switch defect — which has been linked to at least 31 accidents and 13 deaths — for more than a decade before a recall was ordered.
Absolutely disgusting.

> Let one the pillars of the American economy collapse, with the loss of thousands of jobs in the process > Another auto recall There's a big difference between the two.

Of course, meanwhile here in the UK, Vauxhall is blazing ahead of what tiny amount of chevvies there are
-
at least it wasn't Kia, who had recalls because of "spiders huffing gasoline clogging the fuel lines" .

Because crony-capitalism

Good ole GM. I might be a Chevy and Pontiac(mostly) fanboy, but this is garbage. Get yer shit together.

OP obviously has no idea about the complexity of manufacturing vehicles...

Old GM leadership was the problem with the ignition switch, Barra had no idea of the ignition switch issue till she was made CEO of North America or something like that I think the new recall is a defective brake light switch on the new trucks, really that isn't terrible but it's all snowballing for bad publicity for the General right now.
Ford was for the bailouts, mortgaged everything they had to barely get by, and that included the blue oval. Also the big 3 regularly have recalls, Ford/Chrysler have been guilty for doing the same thing GM has done. juss saiyan
The Chevy Cruze is affected and god damn those cars are everywhere. My mom has one but she's going to trade it in. Don't know what she's gonna get but I bug her everyday to get a Corvette.

Well it's not like all the vehicles are just thrown away.
