I know most of you don't likely care about NASCAR, but being a lifelong fan, I had to share this.
Last lap of a rain delayed 400 at Daytona last night. The race ended at 2:45 AM.
The wreck that happened at the Start/Finish line is becoming all too much the norm.
The car driven by Austin Dillon (#3) ended up on his roof after being flung into the catch fence. Another car that was damaged prior tried to evade the mangled mess, still ended up colliding with this car which everyone was already concerned that the driver was mortally injured.

Luckily he was able to walk away from this.

Why are there flaps on the cars?
I honestly do not know, I am not much of a NASCAR guy...
* sips hot chocolate *

I would love to go see NASCAR someday but I'm afraid of being lynched on site immediately for not being white
-
Dat fence tho

All those cars speeding together at 2.30am in the morning, bound to have a crash. I bet most were intox whilst driving as well. Tssk kids nowadays I ask you..

You can thank all the increases in safety technology that he's alive.

who the hell cares about nascar? disgusting
-
Damn, that was cool

Saw it on the news at work and saw the number 3 on the car. At first I was like, God damn that must be just one unlucky number. Then they said he walked away and I just kinda went w0t?
-
Can't believe that I missed this. Glad to hear Dillon walked away from it though.
-
A testament to human ingenuity.

Yeah i saw it on the news. Couldn't stay up late enough to watch it. Thank god no one was seriously hurt. My favorite driver David Ragan was right behind Dillon when it happened.
-
I saw that on tv.

It's a shame and utterly terrifying when something like this happens. But strap yourself into what's basically an engine and a roll-cage and take it 200mph with 30 other cars only inches away from you... and you pretty much get what comes to you. Kinda like when skydivers go splat. You know the dangers.

Jesus, I bet social media is now thinking the Number 3 is a death warrant. Luckily, we live in futur!

I saw that man. It was crazy. I think it's a testament to safety that the driver got out and walked away. 15 years ago that wouldn't have (and didn't) happen.
