Off World Transit

It's been in the game since launch. Only now do we have a further glimpse of what it might be. Freehold station and Tharsis Junction locations on Mars that only were part of the story. We revisited Tharsis Junction when we fought a Taken outbreak. Of course we found an entrance to the Black Garden and spent the majority of the mission there, but that entrance was assumed to be created by the strange workings of the Black Garden: however, there is an interesting implication with the new Crucible map Last Exit.
What before was an isolated company on Mars now been found on Venus. Mars being the M Line and Venus the V line. Many of the designs of both are similar, but there are some keen differences. For instance in Last Exit there is a very interesting map showing the different train lines, when there is only one line shown in the map on Mars. The trains appear different and the layout of both stations is quite different.
While these observations may seem to be tidbits most have picked up on it's the similarities that are quite interesting. Last Exit features a new train map and many new design elements; it also features the old P1 line map found on mars, while also housing platform 1 (image of the platform 1 sign to come you can find it at the bottom of the staircase at the engineering area.). This is a strange thing considering how easy it would be to change or just not to include. Especially since they already went to greater lengths to change existing graphics or create new ones.
The existence of platform 1 in Last exit and the fact that it includes the P1 line map highly suggests that the Off World Transit truly went offworld. Connecting planets in some form of teleportation or transmat more than likely. Shuttling people between planetary colonies is not beyond the realm of what is possible in Destiny Lore.
A small area of speculation, but one of vast possibilities is that the Vex appear both around the Ishtar Sink and around the Buried City. Perhaps one day OFT will be involved in the story behind the Vex introduction to the Destiny universe. It is said the Vex come from another dimension, perhaps Off World Transit was the catalyst to the Vex Infestation. Especially since
Overall it's a topic open to debate since there are correlations, but not concise answers. Those looking into the Last exit Puzzle may be interested to know that there is a similar code in Tharsis Junction along with similar numbering found in the train map along the walls.

Edited by The Lord Guardian: 10/14/2016 2:09:07 PMIronic that the first Venus exploration mission launched by the European Space Agency was called the Venus Express, and was abbreviated to (VEX). Furthermore interesting was that it was equipped with seven scientific instruments.

Crota brought the Vex in. Check the grimoire. He was setup by Oryx's sisters when he learned sword logic, and accidentally tore a hole to where the Vex were and they came into our "universe". Then Oryx banished Crota. Thanks Crota, silly child.

Edited by ira: 10/16/2016 5:00:36 PMIf you go to last exit. There is a train in the middle with its door slightly open. If you pull out your ghost, it marks the inside of the train.
ahhhh I can't explain this shit properly
Edited by sionat: 10/14/2016 11:28:43 AMI find it interesting how many are refuting your idea based on the Calcified Fragment on Crota. Not sure they realize that Crota didn't introduce the Vex to our universe. He cut open Oryx's Throne World, which was a cyst or pocket universe within ours, and the Vex went in. The card never says that the Vex weren't already in our Universe prior to that, only that it was their first encounter with the Hive causing Oryx to have to move his Throne. It actually implies the opposite in following cards where Oryx throws him by his feet into the Vex Realm as punishment, where Crota goes on to march through time making a name for himself as a powerful demon, ending up on our moon. This could be said that the Vex Realm and ours are already linked, if not the same.

It's more than likely just a bunch of random shit artists came up with and when the content cutting cleaver came out they just decided to reuse them instead of spending time to design new models/textures. I'd like to believe that all these little unexplained oddities all amount to something, but I already know the sad truth. That truth being they were just story boarded concepts that were outright removed and the leftovers were used anyways so they could sell a game. They've had over 2 years to come up with a narrative, and compared to their previous titles and other AAA series such as mass effect, their attempt at creating lore and PROPERLY implementing it into this game cannot even be described as half-assed. Even calling it quarter-assed is being generous.

Didn't Bungie say somewhere we could have sub machine guns?

There's an owt sign in the nexus strike I think

Edited by Zelrons: 10/14/2016 4:26:13 PMI don't understand how these "theories" manage to become more and more absurd. Now we're saying the Vex were created by the public transit agency?
Ever notice every "Off World Transit" station uses a mode of terrestrial transportation?
Btw a flaming taco sounds fuggin fantastic right now
-
Damn these lore writers are good
-
To bad bungie confirmed the last exit monitor is just an Easter egg not a secret anything
-
On last exit i got the big monitor by C flag to turn on. It read urbs industria. Anyone have a clue
-
The lines match colors to Venus. The trains have signs that match the trains locations on the lines. But where are the trains?
-
Not sure if anyone has seen this but did you ever look out into the distance on the map crossroads? You'll see a huge mountain...but with closer inspection it turns out be so much more! (Some future dlc maybe) Same goes for the new crucible maps. Even the old maps have stuff...like the European dead zone maps show what I thought was future dlc for ROI seeing the fallen ships in the sky. This could be vex related!

All this information about train stations in Mars and Venus reminded me about a grimoire card "Ghost Fragment: Mysteries 2":
...A switchboard or a train station, empty, dead (waiting). The tunnels branch off into infinity. I stare down one for a long time and see a pale worm move in hungry coils around itself. I think this one is the most likely although I might have brought the worm.
Maybe off-world transit is a train line connecting mars and Venus via a portal. Maybe the vex hijacked the portals and came through that way. Maybe that's why the vex are on mars and Venus and not earth or the moon.

Edited by Ktan_Dantaktee: 10/14/2016 6:35:03 AMGonna cut you off there; the Vex came through a dimensional tear Crota opened, and they proceeded to -blam!- up the Ascendant Plane's shit. Until Oryx showed up, that is. They then tried to imitate the Hive the best they could to replicate their power.
-
Calcified fragments showed crota was responsible for the vex showing up in our universe
-
Hahahahahahahahahahaha stupid ass community. There is no secret. Bungie tweeted it was all an easter egg. Hope the neckbeards have learned a valuable lesson. Probably not though.

Edited by Lil_The_Myth: 10/14/2016 2:36:34 PMThink back to vault of glass for a second remember how atheons boss room is on Venus, Venus and Mars(or has it been Mercury this whole time?) . From the 2 portals they seem to be the same planet in a different time or space or time-space what ever you wanna call it
-
So far off. About the vex, dont know about the actual transportation
-
Exactly, all the signs on last exit point to M Line and V Line being part of a form of teleportation transportation between worlds.
-
Can someone tell me what this is all about?
-
I thought this was well thought-out theory crafting. Even if Crota's actions enabled Vex infestation into our system, Vex would look for the most efficient way to transport themselves between planets. OWT theory makes sense and this theory is not nullified by the Grimiore lore per se. With Crucible devs dropping hints and Bungies tendencies to hide Easter Eggs, this may give them ground for further quest lines at the very least. I'd rather see a new Exotic mission that's more difficult than Gjallahorn or Khvostov.
-
Crotas sisters tricked him into opening a hole between dimensions.
-
I'm almost certain the vex were introduced by Crota. He was trying a soul slice/swipe/scar or whatever and open a portal to another. In poured the vex.
