  • *Develops thousand yard stare* I was stationed out of Darkmoon Faire back in 'aught eight. I'd been kicking my heels in some backwater boondock of a server for a while and craved me some excitement. I'd been designated Rogue since I enlisted and thought I'd shake myself out of my comfort zone. I'd taken a shine to one of those fancy Warlocks, what with their dots and the burnin' and demon summoning whatnots, so I reckoned I'd give them a try. Rolled me a sweet lookin' dame; hair like fire, burnin' green eyes and a fancy ring in her nose. Name was Jahzir as I recall and a woman any man would be proud to be associated with. Anyway, I got my shit in gear and deployed. I jumped from the helo at Stormwind Abbey, finger hovering over the Shadow Bolt button, in case some damn fool tried to train wolves at me, but before my boots hit the ground I got a call on the radio channel reserved for secret comms. "Cyber?" I gave my headset a smack; must be some kind of intereference. I made a break for the doors of the Abbey. "I wanna -blam!- you with a dildo..." Whoa. Is this some kind of trick? Are the enemy trying to psyche me out. I broke radio silence and replied. "Let's not and say we did." I said, hoping that casual disdain would make them choose an easier target. That was my first and only mistake. I spent the next 5 minutes trading insults with whoever the disembodied voice was until I had had enough. I blocked the channel and reported the exchange to HQ. I hadn't even started my mission and already I was off the timetable. I'd have to hussle. I was lining up to take the shot. As my Shadow Bolt tore through the air towards my target, I allowed myself a grin. I "accidentally" stood on a fallen branch so that the mark turned just as the bolt reached them. BLAM! Right in the kisser. It's bloodied and charred lips pulled back in a sneer. "You no take....cyber?" I winced as the comms kicked in, drowning out the rest of the Kobold's sentence. My response was instant. "Command, this is Lock 1. Abort mission, repeat, abort mission. The entire area has been compromised. I'm pulling back to rally point alpha. Requesting immediate evac and recommend sterilisation of the entire server. We're too late to save these poor fools." It was a long time ago now, but sometimes I still wake in the dead of night hearing that word. People often ask me if it really was as bad as some people say but, YOU WEREN'T THERE MAN, YOU WEREN'T THERE! --- Sorry, slow morning at work. Unfortunately, my past experiences of so-called RP in online games has been less than stellar, so I will not be subjecting myself to the possibility of repeats like the above (yes, this did actually happen. Srsly the first one came in before my toon had even loaded in!)
