If there is one thing that I have been noticing Bungie wants in this game is decision making. They want their players to make decisions, especially when it comes to trade offs. It is shown in their recent weapon balancing and in their perk trees on each class and sub-class.
I propose that Destiny will be a better all around game with a stamina system.
THE REASON
Destiny is a fast paced game. Bullets fly fast, we jump around, use our supers, and slide everywhere. But what is the trade off for all this fast paced action? Is there really a decision to be made whether I should sprint, jump or use my super? No. I just do it, because there is no penalty for my character.
There needs to be some trade offs for sprinting, sliding around, and using supers.
HOW IT COULD WORK
Whenever a character goes into sprint mode there should be a green bar that appears below your health bar that shows how you can long you can sprint for. This would make it less of a non-stop sprint mode and more of a decision to travel fast. Skyrim did a really good job of this. Do you run or do you sprint and use your stamina?
Another way it could work is when using a super. A super would use up half of your stamina bar. Thus, if you were below half of your stamina left, you could not sprint and slide away, but rather jog away.
HOW IT WOULD HELP
For one, it would slow the pace of the game a bit. Now I know that might sounds bad, but hear me out. Think about patrol mode. How often do you jog around, rather than sprint? Oh, you never do? That is what I thought. I never jog either, I sprint everywhere. A stamina system would ease the pace of Patrol. Allowing the player to absorb more of their environment.
It would also create a decision that has to be made by the player to sprint over to those mobs or to jog over to save their stamina in case they need to sprint away to safety.

What do you think? Post your thoughts below.
And please remember, these are my opinions, nothing more.

I kinda hate this idea! Good on you for the effort though.
