Why are players quitting Destiny?
What do you guys think of this!? I've been noticing a HUGE decline in my friends who play Destiny still! Most of my REAL LIFE friends all stopped playing except me and others whom I met online have quit as well! Two of my old clans have vanished! My friends list slashed in half!
EDIT: out of my old clan and 182 friends on PSN, all of which used to play destiny, there are 72 online and 2 of them are playing Destiny! So if this trend continues its going to be slim pickens! I feel like its getting worse by the day! **[b]PLEASE BUMP THIS UP[/b] so Bungie will see this!***
Why do you think players are quitting? Do you know of anyone else who has quit? Chime in let us know why you will quit playing or not? Cheers!

Boring man once u got everything its pretty much done. Its boring as hell doin the same strikes and 2 raids. not exciting anymore since i been here since day 1.. havnt played destiny in days now man smh if BUNGIE drop the -blam!-in house of wolves when it was intended to release yes i would still be playing but may 19th -blam!- that man im having alot fun this summer not grinding for -blam!-in gear

Boredom has to be a big reason. Not enough new to do. If Bungie would have at least implemented a weekly rerolling of vender gear perks, it would have helped. Between stale vender items and awful rankup rewards for the factions and Cryptarch, it gets harder and harder to stay the course.

Lack of content that is relevant is a huge issue, daily heroic is irrelevant, even weekly heroic strike is irrelevant. same bounties over and over. PvP is incredibly unbalanced. Story mode was soo half assed ea wants to hire budgie next.

Because I've exhausted this Slotmachine to the fullest. Bloodborne dragged me away and showed me how stupid it was to play such a game for such a long time. It was an addiciton, nothing else. I'm very happy that I found a way to stop playing this shithole. HoW will see me again for sure, but I will never fall for this game again.

I run both platforms and friends playing destiny have declined dramatically. They are bored and waiting for HoW. Personally I love the game and still enjoy it but all the nerfs and pvp cry baby's are starting to annoy me. I understand the logistics of introducing lvl 30+ patrols and clan warfare on patrol but I think it would be a great stop gap until HoW.

PVP is unplayable due to constant thorn/hawkmoon headshots and 1 hit k/o's with felwinters lie... BUT!!! I've been raiding a fair bit recently. I normally hate raiding.

1 ReplyWith the constant NERFING of weapons doesnt help either. Lack of content, doing stike after strike, raid again n again...becomes boring after awhile. The least they can do is lets us enjoy our guns which we spend time grinding for n maxing it to its full potential only to see it NERF.

Hugely unbalanced pvp which isn't even fun to play anymore, super repetitive pve content, same special events (iron banner) and no PvE events, just nothing to do

Most people are burnt out. For me the game isn't fun anymore and feels like a chore to play. The grind is freaking terrible for bs rewards. Everyone seems to think HoW will fix this , but i personally couldn't care less now. 2 strikes and 3 story missions that will take 30 mins max to burn through is nowhere near enough to spark my interest again. Too many other great games to bother anymore.

3 RepliesOut of the 3 close (real life) friends, 2 have kind of stopped and rarely come online anymore. The 1 that still plays a bit everyday is doing PvP a lot and he likes it. That's probably what's keeping him from stopping. Out of the 6 "destiny" friends (met during Destiny, part of the team for months), 2 are currently playing other games more often then Destiny. When GTA heists came out, around 4-5/6 left for a while. So including me, this 10 man team is still partly active in Destiny, 2 having (almost) permanently left at least until HoW. Out of the rest (8), sometimes half are playing another game. The problem? One RL friend has all the exotics, one RL friend finds the game boring. The rest has 3 maxed leveled characters, (almost) all exotics. What about myself? I've got my characters maxed as well, but I'm the one still missing the most exotics. Thunderlord, Gjallarhorn, The Last Word. Also Bad Juju and Pocket Infinity which I've almost completed, but I just can't find the motivation to finish them. Missing some important (and a few of the nicest) exotics, I still have motivation to play next week. The problem is it's going faster and faster, finishing everything after the reset. This week we did NF, CE, VoG (all 3x) on Tuesday and Wednesday. What do I do on the rest of the days? Less and less. I've almost stopped doing bounties, because I'm not in the mood to level weapons I never use. After DLC 2 you will have to redo it anyway for the exotics. Daily missions I haven't done for at least a month. I don't like PvP. So yeah I'm feeling the moment I "take a break permanently" from Destiny coming closer and closer. I did enjoy doing bounties yesterday on 2 characters, finished maxing all my VoG weapons. Love those weapons and it was worth it, even if they are 300 and not 331 legendary's. Am I sad Destiny is this way? Yes and no. I would have liked the game having more and/or better content. But I also like taking a break and enjoying the real life more like I used to. Destiny has taken a big part of my free time since January.

I don't know why your asking this on the forums. let me make a list for you. 1. repetitive gameplay 2. rng 3. no story 4. nothing to do 5. no progress as new dlc will render current progress obselete 6. no custimization 7. some have all items 8. some have beaten everything Look on the forums for 10 minutes and you'll hundreds of reasons why.

I quit Destiny 2-3 weeks ago, cause that's little bit boring and I have everything what I want.. Waiting for HoW to my comeback..

It doesn't surprise me that a large amount of people are leaving. Not because the game is particularly bad, but it is a bit of a unique experience. Advertising rarely focuses on explaining a game's mechanics so, enviably, there's going to be a disconnect between expectation and experience in a portion of the player base. It seemed like there was a gigantic advertising push (from two well-known companies) which would feasibly increase the percentage of people in this category by a fair margin. I also personally know a few people who are more into the social aspect of gaming in the "well, it's what all my friends are doing so I may as well check it out" sense. These people are also quick to jump off the bandwagon when they find something new that they enjoy more or enough of their friends move on. Overall it just makes sense to me that Destiny's population would drop to where it would be if there had been more information about the games mechanics and less advertising. I wouldn't be worried about the entire population of Destiny drying up despite that being where a graph would point right now.

I find myself still playing, but my game sessions are usually short. I can only do so much before getting burned out. HoW needs to drop soon.
