Have you ever played a ranked game before? It's not just bragging rights, it's a way to organize players so that the best don't play the worst. It helps pit you against players your skill level. Do you understand how discouraging it can be to new players to get destroyed by veteran players? Or how boring it gets for veteran players to trash team after team of randoms and newbys? Seriously, learn your shit or shut up.

  • yes I have played them before. and ranked does not mean best never will play worst. for even in halo 3 that was not the case. for many 50's in halo 3 were bought and were not good at all. I do know my shit kiddo, been around games for a very long time seen it all. and all the claims made too and know all the failures of each claim as well.

  • So you demonize ranked systems because sometimes a few people beat the system?

  • not demonize, just know they are not the best nor are those playing always the best no matter what they claim or what rank they are. the ts system is flawed at best, never was perfect in how it worked, never will be either. those that try and use it as how good they are, fail because of this for it is easy to manipulate. until a system is built that cannot be, anyone that claims they are great because of it is a fail. this is simple truth. as long as it can be cheated it cannot be taken serious nor should it be by anyone. this game does not need a visible ts system like halo 3 ever. even though destiny tracker tries to do exactly that. for a ts system is not accurate, for anyone can have bad games or good games and average skill over time which most ts/ranked systems use does not equate to actual skill or understanding of the game ever..

  • Yea it can, I feel like your knowledge of the subject isn't what you say it is, 9 times out of 10 a player higher ranked is better then a player of a lower rank. Veteran players know maps better and know the game mechanics better. No system is perfect but it beats the hell out of no system at all and I'm talking about win/lose ranking not social ranking.

  • lol.. 9/10 not even close.. its maybe 5/10 if even that much. half to so called pro's are not that great really when taken out of their element in how they play, which means they are not the great to begin with. knowing the maps better does not make you a better player always, knowing the game mechanics better does not make you a better player always. w/l ranking is flawed for it too can be manipulated for a player to play against what they want.

  • Alright I'm done discussing competitive playing and ranking systems with someone whose probably never even played competitively. No system will be perfect, you're a dumbass if you think there will ever be one. Respond if you want but you won't get another.

  • I have played in CoD in the competitive lists and in halo 3's ranked lists. and used to play Mech Warrior comeptitively.. so I have done the above. It will never be as serious in this game as some people think it should. Until a system is perfect and cannot be cheated the stats in that system are pointless and do not tell how good a player really is, just how good they might be at certain times. You are the dumbass if you believe anything but that.

  • So what you're telling us, is that the ranking system that the NFL uses to select draft picks is good, right? Or the system they use to determine the highest ranking players in the league for this or that stat such as rushing yards means that the top player in that stat is the best at it? Tell me then, why top ranked players (namely quarterbacks) are notorious for either never making it to the championship game or the Superbowl, or how number one draft picks end up with crap reps after their first season? Simple answer: there are way too many variables for "stats" to determine how good a player is. They could get injured, their team could suck, they might not synergize with an otherwise great team, they may have an entirely different play style...etc. too much that can't be measured in numbers to take into account.
