crux of crota only drops when fully upgraded eidolon ally equiped?

No. In fact on my baby Hunter it just dropped yesterday and all I was sitting on was a husk with 0 hive kills on it towards making it eidolon...

nah. the only eidolon ally I have is in my warlock and it's not fully upgraded. and it got one on my titan recently
