Recently Destiny has been acting kind of funny. Constant disconnect error codes and one in particular without an error code which states something to this effect: that my "account has been signed in elsewhere". This is a breakdown of the observations and symptoms of the problems occurring. To be blunt I still cannot be able to blame the problems on Bungies' servers until I can rule out that my current connection is at its most optimal and Destiny is still not working. Logic.
Note: At the end of this post I do offer somewhat of a fix but it does require you to get into your router and disconnect all wireless options while being LANed in.
Please try this but it will require you to disconnect every connection to the router minus your own to Destiny.
Observations and symptoms:
PS4- two separate locations (Tampa to Orlando)- two different routers (ARRIS, BELKIN)
When it first started (sometime after the DLC) the disconnects have been quite minimal. Overtime and to the present day it has been at a disconnect every 10-30 minute interval. Normally the disconnects happen right before I was about to complete a mission and were a constant terror inside the crucible. The error codes were primarily the ones commenting on the animal kingdom and occasionally it wanted to blame my NAT type (only happened twice).
I have tried connecting at two different locations with the same issues and using two different sources of connections. Wifi and LAN. However, upon inspection of my LAN cable I realized it was broken on the +brown lead. The wifi connections were ranging from 30Mbps Download and 10Mbps Upload. Following Bungies help site using portfowarding.com (well, kinda using portfoward, this stuff isn't new to me) I ported my ARRIS modem/router and static ip my PS4 for the "best capabilites".
After the porting, the problem still exist.
Also tried the DMZ, still a fail.
Next is to fix my LAN cable (which I just completed 5 minutes ago) and see how things go. I will update on this.
I also have a brother who plays his XBOX one at the same time... hmmm, could this be an issue as well? I will find out when I get him to shut his XBOX one down for a day or when I get to my place in Tampa.
Theories:
I have four main theories on the disconnect issues.
1. Destiny has been working fine before the launch of the DLC and even a little bit after. However, and to put this quite short, I believe Destiny is asking more out of our connection than it has before. Maybe this has something to do with the Crota's hotfix and shutting down the disconnect cheese? Maybe.
2. Wifi maybe junk. Period. I would hate to believe this because I love the wifi, great technology.
3. Destiny has an issue with server error codes and a bug fix will be needed on their end. Seeing that many of us are complaining about this though and nothing has really been said about it, other than we are the problem, I doubt this will happen unless a certain ratio of players are affected.
4. My brother's XBOX needs to be BURNED!!!
Conclusions:
I have just rethreaded my LAN cable heads. Running on 50Mbps Download and 20 Mbps Upload. NAT type is still at 2. To be honest getting to a Type 1 is useless for those wondering, NAT 2 should be ok... but i say should with speculation because there are some hardcore MMO fans out there, and if you guys can explain why this is, then we'll be glad to open our ears.
So I will be running Destiny hardcore tonight. We shall see if the LAN cable has reduced the issue, made it worse or perhaps remained the same. If this fails, Destiny will be to blame and there is not much us small consumers can do other than hope they can fix it for us. The way we can fight back is to not buy Destiny 2... I hear HALO is going to be great. Start saving up for a second console PS4 users, we are to start double fisting up in this ish.
Drop some comments on what you think and if your problems have been similar to mine. If you have any questions about trying to portfoward I can help with that as well. DMZ is great way to "open everything up" but thats exactly what it means and you are leaving the PS4 unsecured. Just saying but I can help with that as well.
Update:
LAN wired in PS4. Error weasel popped.
LAN wired in PS4 with static ip and ported modem. Error weasel popped.
43Mbps on Download and 10Mbps on Upload.
Conclusion:
Destiny servers are to blame. Every possible solution and resource has been exhausted on my end to fix the issue. For those looking for the same answers, sorry, but there is none. Contacted Bungies about this some time ago. Reply was basically, "We don't have time to answer you." THANKS BUNGIE!!!!! YOU ARE THE GREATEST!!!!! Sucks that I already bought the stupid DLC and won't be able to play it. What a waste of good art due to poor networking engineers.
Edit: new progression
I may have found something that works. First wire in ps4 by LAN line. Also wire in a laptop to the same router. On your laptop run command for ip addresses. Find default gateway and type it into web browser. This will launch the router setup. Password could vary depending on the make and so can the next steps. Find the wireless setup and disable it. Save and exit... You can experiment in here if you would like but be careful and remember what you do so you can undo it. If not, completely reset router by pushing in reset for 10 sec. or more.
The reason this is working, based on my theory is, Destiny is requiring a major amount of bandwidth to run. Even the highest speeds have trouble reaching this minimum requirement. By doing this it will ensure that no Mbps are being lost or shared. Even when I have nobody home and don't disable this I get weaseled out. After performing this method everything seems to work relatively well.
Let me know how this works for!!!! You can find a few YouTube videos on how to enter the router setup. Here an example: ipconfig_ static ip

Been getting these various error's as well, i've had my router replaced 3 times thinking thats the issue ..it worked until the tech drove off then right back to error code weasel (PS4)

I get baboon or rabbit any time I try to join a fireteam, the tower, or crucible. Been happening ever since release of hard raid
-
I can't even get past the main screen. Fing canary.
-
Can't even land on a planet weasel for 2 days 100 attempts
-
Nothing you can do except wait for it to work again. I was offline for a week straight, it will work again eventually. Patience & Time!

Edited by Shadowman006: 5/14/2015 9:40:47 PMAre you having packet loss issues? I have found that my isp is having heavy loss from one hub. My isp hopefully will find the issue and fix it.

I can play for about ten minutes before either getting kicked off the servers or losing connection to Xbox live. You say that destiny is such a great game, then make it one. Every time I play I get kicked off because of your servers, I keep on getting things like beaver or groundhog. That says your problem has been reported immediately well guess what it's not it won't stop happening so if you're going tell me it's fixed than fix it. I preordered the game and it's been happening ever since I play. So fix it or I'm leaving, and I know I'm one in a million. But that million you so call love so much is going to leave within a year. For any of those who care I find playing between 9am and 12pm central is best. For the Xbox live problem, it started when I downloaded the game off the disks. Whoever is reading this please support me. Halo Reach is a great game better than Density will be if the functions and codes don't start working. Halo Reach is way better than the game Bungie said that Destiny is.

Edited by Ismail_Yucel: 4/16/2015 8:21:27 AMGoodjob. Can you please test data usage for an hour or two and inform us. As i read from several topics, past measurements was, Destiny uses 300-500 mb of data download per hour. I agree with one of your theories. Destiny may be demanding more data usage aftee dlc. By the way for those who has limited contract with their ISP, BECAREFULL! If you play Destiny two hours a day, that makes 60 hours per month and assuming minumum data usage (300 mb), you download 18 gb of data. So, you may have a limited contract with your ISP, and they can lower your download speed after a certain data usage which will affect your gameplay.

i have been getting nothing but caterpillar. and randomly booted off line or sent back to the title screen (not the character select). i have contacted both my isp and xbox, both claim that it is on destiinys end. i have done every single step to get this damn game to work, and can barely stay in the tower for more then 3 min, IF i can get to it. wifi on or off. xbox 360 it has been caterpillar and that error code alone or sent back to the title screen, or signed off line completely. All of my other games and apps work just fine since i gave this game up for the past week

Anyone herd of banjo error code.
-
I would probably notice this, IF I COULD PLAY
-
So, pretty much you have to be the only person online in your household to play destiny. When the wife and kids get online, I get weasel and baboon non stop. I thought it would be something along those lines. So if you want to play Destiny you need to pay for another internet connection in your house? Not going to happen. Time to get rid of the game.

Edited by DarkDevilPup: 3/1/2015 1:33:39 AMI've been getting the error codes too, I've been getting kicked off of destiny and then xbox live. My internet is good and so is my connection to live. I don't know what's wrong. The only code that mainly comes up is weasel, but that's not what's wrong. This has been going on for the past week 7-10 times a day. I don't have a smart phone so, no app. xbox360

This, a thousand times, this. This guy just said what I been trying to post here for a while now but I just end up cursing out Bungie, PS4, and online multiplayer in general.

For me I just keep getting "banjo" and cant even sign in. I just sit at the main menu. Last night it was perfectly fine.
-
I've been getting marionberry a couple times as well as caterpillar.
-
Weasel has been occurring more often since an update around February. The only way to fix it is to hard reset the xbox one. This is by far the most frustrating error code that needs to be fixed ASAP
-
This is pathetic, I just got weasel agaaaaaaaiin
-
6 days now I can't get to character slection screen. I got Weasel, Centipede, Chicken tonight. Bungie ask me any question, any info I will give you to help fix these issues. No other online games have problems. No network config changed etc. Why is this happening? I have posted several detailed posts and never have received a response, but up until 6 days ago it was all good (and for 10 days in November I was down with numerous errors.... here we go again!).
-
I have tried every suggestion provided by bungie help on the forums with 0 improvement. I seriously doubt this many people have ISP/router issues. Every other game I play on xbone or 360 has no issue just destiny.

And even when bungie try to fix them they end up introducing more, with 1.1 this had bungie confessing "After the 1.1 patch players began seeing WASP" But that is just where the bungie hypocrisy begins; Take a look at this Wasp error and we see; "There are two possible fixes for this error: - Power cycle your router - Secure a wired connection when downloading updates" So even with bungie confess about having introduced the bug they still turn around and claim the only two possible causes are based on YOUR network. Classic bungie.

Seems funny, since I've owned destiny since near day 1 release, I've not been disconnected from destiny server even once. Seems to me it's not a bungee issue....something to do on your end.....seems to me everyone wants to blame budgie for everything! Lmao it's funny reading complaint posts.
