"You cannot shake the feeling that this is less a weapon than a doorway..."
I cannot shake that feeling. I've always been fascinated with secret loot in video games, loot that is so rare that it truly is like an elusive treasure begging to be found. There are other things in destiny put in secretly in such a manner that I can't get over the Pocket Infinity's lore. I believe it actually is less a weapon than a doorway, I believe it can be used to activate dormant vex gates in the vault. One step of the bounty requires you to kill a vex GATE LORD with a heroic modifier active. The mind fluid of the Gate lord is "the key to it's dying secret."
There is no way this is coincidence. If Pocket Infinity doesn't open a gate in the vault, then I believe it was originally intended to, but the idea was scrapped. Either way, I think Pocket Infinity is supposed to be a doorway like it's description says. Also to speculate, the description for the Monte Carlo is something like "There will always be paths to tread and methods to try. Roll with it."
Edit: I have found out some other interesting things. The meaning of Mythoclast I was told is "Breaker of Myths", which is intriguing. Also have been finding more and more fishy spots in the vault that could be chest locations requiring a trigger. Will update if anything is found.

The symbol for the pocket infinity perk is found on the rasputin grimoire card, and said symbol is found on the anamoly map on the moon in pvp. My guess is that PI itself is a Golden age weapon, created by the same people or secret company who may have built Rasputin.
