Honestly, playing (or winning) the pvp should give 6 marks for the daily. At the very least.
This would incentivize players branching out and trying new modes or pve players playing a little pvp for 6 marks. PVE mains would feel like their time is worth it to jump in a match once a day. Who knows maybe they will actually have fun and stick with it.
Currently the rewards at 2-3 marks is pitiful. Takes about 10 minutes a match (not including dreadful load times and matchmaking) at that rate it takes about (rounding and assuming here) 8 hours of pure play time to max your marks on one character. Compare that to vanguard marks and laugh. I see who pve players see it as a waste of time and avoid it completely. I pvp almost every day between 5-10 matches (often more) and never close to maxing marks on 3 characters. To me it's just a bonus of having fun, to others it's an insurmountable challenge of playing almost 25 hours at something they may not like that much.
The result would be earning an extra 42 marks a week - resulting in 14- 21 less matches to max their marks for the week on each character. If the bonus is tied to winning I think it would encourage people to get better.
The daily pve has this bonus and it's so easy to max out your vanguard marks (with minimal uses). With crucible marks needed for so many things (and the fact that I have 9 commendations but only receive ~150 crucible marks a week across 3 characters) means that I'll never have the chance to use these commendations unless I play twice as much.
So yeah, daily pvp rewards, more fun, more choice, less grinding, more players.
Side notes: It would also be awesome if you could trade in commendations for 10 marks or something. Or bring back trading mats for marks (which I DGAF about and never thought it was a good idea but some people liked it).
