I Never like this rule where the refs determine whats a complete catch and what isn't. Its too much gray area and opinionated. To me he had the ball with both hands he feet touched the ground, he rolled and the ground cause a fumble that he recovered. And the NFL says the ground can't cause a fumble so there for it should have been a catch.
After they game the analyst dude said they exact same thing I said above. Only difference is he said the ground can cause an incomplete pass but not a fumble. We know that, but if he had control of the ball before hitting the ground and after two steps feet on the ground, it should have be a catch since the ground cant cause a fumble.

He wasn't really taking steps making a football move though, he was falling to the ground. If you're falling to the ground, which he was, you have to maintain possesion throughout. I agree it's a dumb rule, but they called it exactly how the rule goes. Almost exactly the same situation as the Calvin Johnson no catch.

He didn't complete the catch. If he's going to the ground 2 feet doesn't automatically make it a catch, have to maintain possesion, which he didnt

The thing I don't get is, and it really bugs me, if you have enough control of the ball to put it in one hand and extend your arm out with the ball in one hand that should count as having control.

He actually made three steps and then his knee hit the ground WHILE maintaining the ball.

Right!! Then he should have been down at that spot.

Exactly.
