It's a "mmo". Now what are mmo's all about?
You guessed it, grinding!!
I was stuck at lvl 24 for what seemed like forever. I know your pain, but if you don't enjoy the grind, which I actually do. Then maybe destiny isn't the type of game for you, perhaps you should move on.
I'm not trying to be an ass, I'm just being serious.
Edit: 27 hours btw is peanuts. Your just getting your feet wet at the moment. According to destiny tracker I'm at just over 400 hours, but like I said I really enjoy the grind. Play more and good things will come your way.
Edit 2: it also appears you only play crucible. Rank up your vanguard. Play strikes. Earn marks. In two weeks you could have two pieces of legendary gear. Not to mention you could have more from vanguard packages that you earned from ranking up. Then you'll be 31 in no time able to play both raids and enjoy the endgame content.

I've played plenty of MMOs with even more grinding than Destiny will ever hope to achieve; this game takes the cake for being absolutely shit though. I can't comprehend how you can play this game for more than an hour without wanting to bash your head repeatedly against a brickwall.
