It's not the Be All, End All weapon. But calling it trash is anything but true. In some situations yes, but in others it can be your best friend.

The Mida is a great help when soloing the first two parts of ce. Makes it a lot easier! And in pvp with a hunter you just fly over the map - at least that's what it feels like

You're using it wrong then. The thing wrecks in PvE when used correctly. I have no issues firing on bosses one minute, then switching to clean up the mob assault the next, then back to the boss, or cross map firing to assist teammates. Even use the thing at times to take down Devil Walkers. Of course not as efficient as Ice Breaker, but get the job done.

I just got this as a drop from VOG, albeit 1.0 version. Still melts pretty good.
