Pro Tip for all the "Christmas Noobs" (or newbs in general)

Hard Raiding. Don't do it unless you have normal raid experience under your belt. Seriously. There was once a time where we could take Atheon down in 1 to 2 teleports... last night it took us over an hour just to beat him because a few in our group had lied about having hard raid experience. Don't even get me started on the Templar. It was my fault for not checking your profile out, but it was late, we were in a rush. We kept finding others who weren't experienced and finally bought these guys lies. If you're randomly teleported most would agree that you should be having the button on your controller that grabs the relic held down. Whoever gets it, gets it. This is what hard raiding is all about. People who know what they are doing, ready to tackle a real challenge. I can't tell you how many times 3 guys in my group would teleport, only to see we've succumbed to the oracles and one of these guys saying "uhhhh, nobody grabbed the relic." I see others making the "you're not a real 31/32 unless you've put this many hours in or unless your grimoire score is this amount." I was always against that, some people just get lucky with fantastic drops, but now I get it. Level 31 or 32 on this game doesn't mean a damn thing if you can't back it up by knowing what in the hell you're supposed to be doing. All of us who have been playing since September have put in the hours, the time, to learn all there is to know about this game. We suffered together and are better for it. We learned from doing numerous normal raids and took what we knew going into hard. This is how it should be. It's time for you guys to put in your time as well. We aren't newbies and shouldn't be held back like one. You want to hard raid? Earn it. Find a group who, like yourself, hasn't done it and run the VoG normal. Don't lie and let an easily gained number do the talking for you. NOTE: I am not opposed to helping new players learn. I am opposed to new players taking advantage of experienced ones by attempting to be carried through a hard raid. It's a team effort, learn your part.

  • Find a group and run it? Easier said than done. I've been on since day one and have yet to find a group to do vog. No one, at all, will take someone inexperienced. I'm at the point of lying but I hold back, I don't want to be that person, but I'd really like to actually do a raid ever
