We want cross-gen Destiny!
It's time to allow cross gen for destiny! For so long players have been complaining that they can't play with their friends who haven't gotten next gen consoles or can't afford to. Bungie constantly says they are trying to build a community of togetherness and cooperation, why not let us play with our friends in the same console family?
I understand the argument about better hardware giving an unfair advantage but that advantage could very well be due to the TV the player is using and I think the benefits of being able to play with friends on older consoles far outweighs the negative aspects (are there any really??).
So c'mon Bungie, give the people what they want! Let me know what you think Guardians

server infrastructure is to different sorry, coding it would take to long, average time to create a game for ps3 is 6 months for ps4 can be done in 7weeks or less ive seen. systems are just to different. Cross platform would be cool but no way anyone I work with would let that happen

As cool as cross gen would be, I'd much prefer cross platform. Half of Lowe's (my work) plays on xbox the other half on ps4, very frustrating

5 Repliesim sure its possible, but I don't think that sony or Microsoft want that to happen, because they sell more consoles when people want to play with their friends and can only do so on the same gen. I don't think this is a big problem tho because you my next-gen friend can always bring your account back to the old system (if you still have it) and play with your 360 friends. im just happy they let me take my account to the new system.(a lot of time would have been wasted)

1 ReplyCross platform would be even better :) It has been done with other games that allow PS3/PS4/PC/Xbox all on same server.....FFXI Shame it will never happen again though. Maybe when all games are streamed to your TV and all you need is a controller....

How about a specific server so you can choose whether or not you want to?? Isn't that a happy medium?

My experience would increase massively due to my mates who still play Destiny but on PS4. The Xboxers got bored and sold the game but still got mates playing on PS4. I didn't think it was possible but someone corrected me and said Final Fantasy does this and another game I can't remember. Pretty sure a generational cross over would be impossible though.
