It's time to allow cross gen for destiny! For so long players have been complaining that they can't play with their friends who haven't gotten next gen consoles or can't afford to. Bungie constantly says they are trying to build a community of togetherness and cooperation, why not let us play with our friends in the same console family?
I understand the argument about better hardware giving an unfair advantage but that advantage could very well be due to the TV the player is using and I think the benefits of being able to play with friends on older consoles far outweighs the negative aspects (are there any really??).
So c'mon Bungie, give the people what they want! Let me know what you think Guardians

Last gen gaming is part of the reason Destiny suffered cuts, ps3 and Xbox 360 can not handle the level of content that was originally in the game. We had cuts sure because of the lead story writer leaving but in game containt was also cut due to accommodating last gen consoles. I mean seriously are the current gens even pushed with Destiny now? No. Forget last gen give me more current gen stuff.

Edited by quicklight: 3/19/2015 9:19:34 AMCross gen would be so cool. I think most ppl that have a ps4 upgraded from a ps3. When I got my white ps4, I didn't even know or care about destiny. Once I got hooked, I thought I'd get it on ps3 for 2 player, but sadly no. I'm sure it's the same for the Xbox generations. Cross platform would be interesting, but cross gen should be a must. From a sales perspective, no cross gen limits bungie's profits. I think it might be more a console manufacturer stipulation. Whatever it is, I sure as hell am not buying another console just for 2 player capability. I'll just let friends or family take turns playing with strangers.

The ps3 version isn't all that different. Resolution and lighting seems to be the only difference for me at least.
-
Their reason was literally on the lines that from a distance next Gen consoles could display a couple more pixels than last gen. Laugh
-
I want this alot personally.
-
Not going to happen.
-
The game would be worse if they did that They'd have to cut it back even more
-
Since when did the people want this? This works with an MMO type game like FF14 but I doubt it would ever work with an FPS. Also, good luck getting Sony and MS to play nice and let their servers talk to each other.
-
No we don't
-
Xbox one and the older consoles can't keep up with the master console, ps4. Not possible
-
No one on new gen wants next gen, i dont want shitty graphics
-
What you are asking is impossible to do? Old gen doesn't hVe enough power and speed to keep up with each frame. It will override the system.
-
You know how sometimes in game chat just refuses to work between people so you have to form an XBL party to communicate? Now imagine that not being an option >_>
-
No, it's not the users TV, you said it yourself. Duh. Time to upgrade, if you have time to sit on your a**, you got time for a job, so save up and buy next-Gen kiddies.
-
Only going to hold the game back for the current gen. Leave last gen behind
-
They didn't do it because current gen players would have too much of an advantage over last gen players (screen resolution was the main reason they quoted IIRC)
-
No thanks I'd rather they just focused on the current generation and stop developing for the PS3/x360
-
No don't want to play with PScrubs
-
No. But I'll tell you why. Money. Why would they make it so there is no incentive to buy their system for a game that your friends are on? Instead I raise you with this. Current gen only destiny 2. Sick of these cross platform games that fall short of what they could be because of the inferiority of 360 and Ps3
-
we want next gen only destiny , without the limitations of ancient technology
-
Cross platform would be sweet
-
What I want is the previous gen to go away.
-
just no on this. last gen held destiny back. destiny should have been next gen only.
-
Bad news ps3 and 360 players. The PS4 and Xbone are no longer the next gen. They are the current gen. Support for last gen is already drying up. The last thing any company is going to do is invest time and money into the last gen.
-
Microsoft don't want cross platform gaming.
