MSX-38 Lightning, Experimental Reconfigurable Mobile Suit. The lightning has the unique ability to transform into both a heavy fighter, and a long range sniper/interceptor. The cockpit system is also designed with a neural linkage, which allows the pilot to operate the body of the suit as if it were his/her own. The lightning's compact size also makes it an incredibly difficult target to hit, not to mention its incredible agility, and firepower. It is also the first of its kind to incorporate a light energy shield, in conjunction with a depleted uranium/steel alloy armored skin. The model is optimized for thru-space combat, however, it can adapt fairly well to ground based combat, and atmospheric dogfighting.
