What you said is exactly how I feel! I love the gun play and the mechanics, and the graphics are amazing. If I didn't enjoy the pvp aspect as much as I do (It reminds me of the good old days of Halo 2 multiplayer), then I would be very disappointed. I feel like its just a shell of what they promised.
My ultimate opinion: Halo was such a better game/franchise than this is shaping up to be so far. The story was/is so rich! How can you come from such an awesome mythos as Halo to unlocking virtual cards that barely delve into the story of Destiny at all? All the vid docks talking about open worlds, trading, gambling. Where has all that gone?! Is Activision to blame? (I suspect so, but this is merely speculation on my part.)
When I hear expansion, I think of stuff like The Shivering Isles from Oblivion. An expansion should of added new planets to go to! Or open up other areas on Earth (Like over in America or other continents.) New types of enemies from the different factions! I also feel like this is more of an event similar to Queens Wrath then an actual expansion.
I will continue to play (and grind, which I actually don't mind so much, I just wish the story and variety of quests were larger) up until House of Wolves since I paid for the two pack. If House of Wolves does not deliver more story, different area's, and more rich content, I probably will not continue to play or support the game any further, which is sad, because I can SEE the potential, and its all just being thrown away.....
