ATTN: Do Not buy "The Devil You Don't" Hand Cannon!
Please be smarter than me and spend your money on something else because I cant hit anything with this pos.
My favorite weapon in the game for PVP is TLW. Based on TDYDs stats (high rate of fire/stability) I thought it could be a decent backup for when I wanted an exotic special or heavy. However, it seems like this is one of the most inaccurate guns of any class I have used, its literally losing gun fights for me. I didn't realize the Clown Cartridge perk only grants ONE extra bullet IF it procs, and at a base mag of 5 rounds, this isn't a significant difference.
I feel terrible when I think about other people spending their marks/commendations on this gun so do me a favor and don't.

1 ReplyAlready knew it would suck with only 5 rounds. The fwc hand cannon seems to better in all stats. Think I'm gonna buy that one. But I'd rather had the option to upgrade the TDYK to the new stats.

I got one from an engram and I think it's pretty good. I can hit things easily and I have a quick reload perk so the five shots isn't too bad.

I was saving my Thorn bounty for the DLC. As soon as i logged on Tuesday I turned it in for Thorn 2.0, haven't used my Devil you kn ow since...I looked at the new one and was not impressed

3 RepliesIt is a handcannon that works with a narrow playstyle. It works much like the old Thorn did, before they expanded the magazine just minus the DoT effect. IMHO Clown Cartridge should be replaced with a precision kill increase reload speed perk. That would be in keeping with the spirit of the weapon more then CC. On a side note: anyone wonder why the Vanguard sells a PvP handcannon where the Crucible vendor sells a PvE one?

I disagree. I really enjoy TDYD as someone who's been running around with Last Word for awhile. TDYD is supposed to be used for hip-fire headshots, like TLW. So unless you're hitting headshots consistently yeah, 5 shots is a bit paltry. Handcannons are supposed to be high-risk/high-reward hence TDYD's low magazine size with Final Round and why Clown Cartridge only procs 1 extra round--anymore would nullify the utility of Final Round. TDYD is a handcannon for one who is already proficient with a very-particular playstyle concerning HCs, and I can see how it might not be for everyone. That doesn't mean however that it's a bad weapon--just very niche.

Yeah I wasted A LOT of marks on that garbage hoping it wasn't as bad as it looked...looks like I got 15 or so hours of crucible ahead of me to get the only decent hand cannon you can buy now...I get the joke Bungie was making with the names but seriously that thing is just garbage.

He's talking bout Devil you don't know; I thought it was the Devil you "know"...my bad...TDYK is a one shot kill on just bout everything. If you can hit the head, it's dead...Fav gun of the game. You would not be sorry you bout it.. As for the devil you don't; Probably gonna buy the chance from fwc first but will still buy devil don't.. My bad guys and I seriously apologize for me being a dumbass...

Yeah, I figured as much when I saw it. Sticking with my TDYK and Lord High Fixer for legendary HC's for now even though they only max out to 300 . . . I'm rockin with them.

I decided to level it up until i get the range/last round upgrades today and its still crap. It quickly turned in to 2 energies and ill be sticking with my Timurs Lash and Thorn.
