Please be smarter than me and spend your money on something else because I cant hit anything with this pos.
My favorite weapon in the game for PVP is TLW. Based on TDYDs stats (high rate of fire/stability) I thought it could be a decent backup for when I wanted an exotic special or heavy. However, it seems like this is one of the most inaccurate guns of any class I have used, its literally losing gun fights for me. I didn't realize the Clown Cartridge perk only grants ONE extra bullet IF it procs, and at a base mag of 5 rounds, this isn't a significant difference.
I feel terrible when I think about other people spending their marks/commendations on this gun so do me a favor and don't.
thanks
TLDR : don't buy TDYD hand cannon
edit: guess this thread is obsolete now with the expansion comin out tomorrow, thx for everyone's input. ;)

I still might.

Don't worry mate, I saw what pile of crap it was from looking the stats alone. The shotgun, "Secret Handshake" however is very good... BUT it has a major flaw: there is like only 13 shells in it. That sucks. I was however able to boost it to 20 with Armamentarium buff.

I like mine: third eye, field scout and bonus hipfire
-
It's a play on the old saying, better the devil you know than the devil you don't! Basically they intentionally made it poorer than 'The Devil You Know' just to fit the saying!
-
Why does bungie love to troll us
-
Everyone goes on about how good fate bringer is and I'm just sat here with my lord high fixer, 11 rounds a mag each deals explosive damage and one shots most normal enemies, and I'm just lollin cos it never gets a mention. It's loads better than my fatebringer
-
I got one with outlaw, explosive rounds and third eye. I ain't mad.
-
I have two with field scout.

Edited by Mxgus: 12/18/2014 6:29:53 AMYou know, personally I think you're a fool. If you can't hit anything with it, it is your fault for being ineffective in your use of hand cannons. I personally love this gun, and I beat TLW consistently in firefights. The five round magazine is only detrimental to the gun when you aren't good at using hand cannons and can't land your headshots in crucible. If you land three shots in the head, or four in the body, any guardian is dead. And, at level 30 it takes only three of those five shots to kill a knight. this being so, I respect your opinion, but saying this gun isn't good is in my opinion a wrong observation. If my consistent scores in crucible are to say anything about it, unless of course I'm just better than you. And, this isn't to mention that its final round perk causes over 2000 damage in PVE.

Funny how the saying goes you're better off making a deal with the devil you know rather than the devil you don't. Looks like the guns follow that theme
-
I got TDYD from an engram & the Who's Next? speed reload perk is perfect on it. Speed reload makes it a better gun.
-
Mine got to me thru the nightfall. Haven't even touched it yet lol.
-
Mine isn't that bad, I have the maximum cartridge upgrade on it so I have 13 bullets.
-
I went through multiple raids and nightfalls/weeklies with min3. Fully upgraded and 13 in mag is not to be laughed upon. I love this primary

Edited by MuriloBFS: 12/17/2014 2:16:41 PMPretty much all the new vanguard guns are garbage when compared to the pre-dlc versions. The Devil You Don't is pretty bad, even the RNG versions of it. The Vanguard one... Man, it's one of the worse handcannons I've seen yet. 5 Bullets in the mag, low impact and low range makes some rare hand cannons a lot better than this one. If you don't mind losing your exotic slot, Hawkmoon or Thorn would be the better choice for a Hand Cannon nowadays (PVE). The Last Word is a beast for PVP, and is decent for PVE. If you want to keep your exotic slot, the hand cannon from the crucible (something 1969, I don't remember) is actually pretty decent. The Chance from FWC now has field scout, so is actually a decent choice too. What I would really like to get is either a decent Venation III or Red Hand IX, but those are completely random drops.

Feel your pain, was running out of things to spend marks on so thought I'd give it a go expecting clown cartridge would give 8 at least. Waste of marks. Switched back to a lower lvl HC till I get a bit of luck with a drop.
-
The crucible TFWPKY 1969 seems to be the only vendor HC to buy at this time. It is quite nice if a little vanilla.
-
I got the ring red hand IV from new monarchy it's a beast and it has crowd control

Edited by Seaynut 215: 12/17/2014 2:09:45 PMI used/still use TDYK and love it, saw TDYD and ran away. Ended up getting lucky on getting a weekly or nightfall engram drop and got the TWRFPK? 1969 and let me tell Ya, it's a beast. 10 round mag with fast reload from a kill and explosive rounds for AOE crowd control. It's my new favorite legendary HC. I've got it equipped if you want to look.
-
You need to add in your opinion do not buy. Because one of my friends absolutely loves the thing. Just because it doesn't fit your playstyle does not make it a bad gun. This same friend loved thorn before the buff.
-
Who in their right mind would buy a Handcannon with only 5 shots? Derp.
-
Got it in a vanguard level. It now has 13 shots and is stronger than its predecessor.
-
Clown cartridge is only good on rocket launchers in my opinion... Otherwise it's not really worth the perk slot.
-
I got this from a drop on day one (different perks than vanguard) and I don't know what everyone's hating on. Yeah, it doesn't have the range of it's younger brother (TDYK) but it's not bad at all. I used it in the nightfall without issue.
-
Buy the crucible hand cannon if you don't have upgraded Thorn/Hawkmoon. Everything else is a dumpster fire.
-
Dude, check out the vendor version of The Chance from FWC. It has field scout which makes it essentially a 331 TDYK. It's great.
