With the new raid and vanguard/crucible gear coming out, I'm worried that this raid will be left in the dust. More powerful weapons and armour will be more easily available and people wanting to get raid gear will just do Crotas End. This will become even more prevelant in later DLCs and no-one will be doing VoG anymore, there won't be any point. It's a waste of a very well put together experience (aside from the bugs of course) and I don't want to be playing this game in a year and have level 34s asking what the Vault of Glass is cause they've never done it. With this in mind would it be possible for Bungie to make a way for the old raids to still be relevant in later DLCs? Doesn't have to be a raid weapon buff or anything but just something.
-
Bungie Please keep the Vault of Glass it's still a nice challenge
-
I'll say just keep it at light 30 so when I'm in light 32 I can give Atheon a can of whoop ass myself .. And also to do a quick flawless raider..
-
Theres already 2 sets of vog raid gear for each class in game, they just need to release the second set, allowing for level 32. This would keep vog fresh, and with the new gear from crotas end we wouldnt all look the same.
-
It looks like they will because the disappearing platforms part looks as if some other story, strike,or raid will pass through there and go deeper inside the vault.
-
Since they're adding level 30 gear to buy, do you think they could unlock VoG? Allow people to raid as many times a week as they like and receive the drops? I know FF14 does this with new content release, limited to one drop, but old content is unlocked allowing people to get a boost to run the new stuff.
-
Not if you want the mythoclast which got bumped to 323 attack
-
Nope I am going to play until I get all of the weapons and the whole set of gear - also it's a good source of ascendant energy and shards.
-
I'll be playing vog until I get praedyth's timepiece 8( >.< )8!!!
-
Players will still look forward to get the exotics on VOG 4 sure
-
Keep in mind that newer players who are leveling up their characters will need to do the VoG in order to get their gear up to level 30, so they can do the Crota's End raid. They won't be able to do the Crota's End raid until they level to 30. The VoG (or Iron Banner) are required to get gear to take you to level 30. So the VoG raid will still be relevant in the normal path to build your Guardian up.

Is "obsolete" is the word you're looking for, not "redundant"?
-
I want answers!
-
No it won't but with the weekly nightfall increasing to 30 from 28 it means Xmas purchases if the game will have content locked out for longer. But also if they buy dlc ability to hit 31 and go straight into easy raiding overpowered having never known the struggle of learning the raid properly.
-
The extra mini boss looks like it will be in the jumping puzzle. Got stuck with a bad group and had some time to explore it seems to much work went into it without adding a boss.
-
First of all they can always add another Tier to the vault of glass. Secondly the option is there to plays so it's up to players to actually play and not just be mind bent on leveling up to 32. Thirdly, you can still get materials/exotics from it which is very much relevant. Forth, It will be an avenue for newer players to level up if they wish. But surely we will see a decrease in players attempting the vault of glass
-
I don't think VoG will irrelevant long. They're probably up the difficulty level after a certain period of time so you can run it on level 32 then 40 or whatever the next cap will be. And Bungie has stated that we haven't seen all the Vault has to offer. I wouldn't be surprised if they add an additional mini boss or path (probably wishful thinking! But a girl can dream). It's just not a change I see being made until later.
-
With zero actual social and team building functions built into the game, the whole raiding thing is redundant.
-
just imagine...the Vault closing and never to be re-opened O.o
-
I haven't done the vault, so I'll be doing that... eventually.

Edited by SandKid: 12/4/2014 11:35:41 PMThis is why the debate for raid development exists. Spend 30% of budget on content used by 10% of players for about 65% of game's lifespan. But, you get an excellent marketing tool from it. Or don't do raids at all and use that extra cash for more content available to more players. Hmm.

I'm having the same difficulties.... hopefully they will use the new raid as a form of distraction to give them time to perfect the vault. Just wish they would give us more information on this update before we do something rash due to misinformation
-
I feel like they will abandon it, they seem to hint that in the notes by implying any issues in the Vault will be corrected in Crotas End. With their track record I doubt they will even give support to this raid when House of Wolves comes out.
