HM VoG isnt fun anymore
All because of the templar fix.
Unless you have an experienced raid team and good weapons the hard mode raid is an excruciatingly painful experience.
Templar is easily the hardest part of the raid. Without the cheese my raid team and I get stuck at templar for hours sometimes. We never cheesed atheon or NM Templar. We only cheesed HM templar to get to the rest of the raid without wanting to throw our ps4s out the window.
The hard raid is no longer worth it imo.
Hopefully bungie get things right with crotas end.
Edit: What I'm trying to say is that HM templar is harder than it should be and sometimes causes so much frustration that I would rather not do the raid at all. I have beat HM templar many times legit. Just sharing my opinion about the fight.

Reading through the responses has made me realize how toxic this community is.

Edit: I want to make it clear that I don't like to cheese or ever relied on the cheese. My raid Team and I are very experienced in the VoG and have beat HM templar many times. I just feel templar needs a little tweeking.
If you think I'm just a scrub and I should "get gud" then that's your opinion and I will respect it.

I do believe the point of the hard raid is to be just that...HARD. Should the second checkpoint be harder than the final boss?...no but then again the gatekeeper ( 3rd) is harder than atheon as well. U just learn and adapt. Sorry to hear ur having an increased difficulty since the patch but then again bungie never meant for the templar to be as easy as just pushing him off

1 Reply2 Runs today with randoms from the forum, took 15 seconds to explain the tactic that we were doing (all 6 jump down & stick togheter on the right side of the map for clensing). Got it done on our first and then later on our second try! So no you don't need an experienced group to do this!

The community here has regressed since the days of Halo. It's toxic, people are awful. Try the subreddit r/destinythegame though. I've migrated there for my game conversation and they've been nothing but enjoyable.

I love the unless you have a good team and maxed weapons line. Have any of you ever played video games in your lives? I just don't understand how everyone can complain that the raid on HARD is hard.

I'm glad they fixed it. Now I can actually fight him, which I think it's a very fun fight. The majority of my team would always just want to push him so that's what we did. I was pretty much the only one who didn't like it lol.

THe reason people are reacting so vociferously against your post has more to do with the KNEE JERK reaction you are having to the removal of an EXPLOIT. The fact is Hard Mode raid should BE HARD. It's not supposed to be fun. If it's too hard for you and your raiding party you should practice more, get better or stick to the normal raid. This post just comes off as whining

You are definitely welcome to your own opinion, but to be quit honest if people had become accustomed to fighting him correctly to begin with, it would just be another part of the raid. It's only "difficult" now because everyone got used to not having to fight him. Some people still don't even know how to kill him. If done properly, the Templar fight lasts around 30-40 seconds.

I disagree, imagine the very first playthroughs of the vog, everybody loved it. Because they came in without any preconceptions and not knowing what to expect. The vog should still be fun the basic mechanics are still there, all they did was fix an exploit and yes it was an exploit. Now that goes without saying my raiding group took advantage of the exploit, but I also experienced the Templar fight pre-exploit and I'm fine with them fixing it. Yeah the no teleport Templar chest will probably be harder to get, but all I ever got from it were ascendant materials anyway and those are easy to come by. So it should still be fun, just look up how to defeat him pre exploit. Think of it like a new discovery.

It's fun to see who never beat the raid legit. Lol I love this new generation who expects everything to just be handed to them. Tell you what op if it isn't fun for you, don't play it. Wishing for Crotas end to be easier is just pure fail

If you take away the possiblity of cheating, then those items, those victories, feel more real. Also, players who do the raid are expecting to have to play the templar part for real, and that only adds to the betterment of players game-wide. A++ 10/10 there never should have been a way to cheat in the first place. EDIT: Hopefully Bungie does enough testing through Crota's End to eliminate the possibility of cheating through that raid. If they do it right, those items will make you a Man amongst Mice.

You just need to try a diff strat and find one that works for you it's or not that hard once u get a good strat down

1 ReplyWhat is a hard raid if it isn't hard? Im sorry, but I appreciate a challenge... I for one cheesed Templar and Atheon until they patched them. But it's refreshing to actually play something where the boss can't be beaten so easily that everyone's doing it. I like it better now, if it was like this from the start then we would see who actually deserved what they got and who didn't. It's frustrating playing with people who have "30s" but don't know a damn thing about the raid... If you're a 30 you should be able to play every position comfortably in the raid. Not just one that you excel in.

Lol i think everyone is just a bit rusty on Templar now after so much cheese. Its definently doable with a competent team. But just be careful about your randoms and sad to say, you have to gear check people because dps is key.
