HM VoG isnt fun anymore
All because of the templar fix.
Unless you have an experienced raid team and good weapons the hard mode raid is an excruciatingly painful experience.
Templar is easily the hardest part of the raid. Without the cheese my raid team and I get stuck at templar for hours sometimes. We never cheesed atheon or NM Templar. We only cheesed HM templar to get to the rest of the raid without wanting to throw our ps4s out the window.
The hard raid is no longer worth it imo.
Hopefully bungie get things right with crotas end.
Edit: What I'm trying to say is that HM templar is harder than it should be and sometimes causes so much frustration that I would rather not do the raid at all. I have beat HM templar many times legit. Just sharing my opinion about the fight.

Reading through the responses has made me realize how toxic this community is.
Apperently opinions aren't welcome here.
Though I did see some light in the darkness.
IE. people respecting my opinion even if they disagreed
Edit: I want to make it clear that I don't like to cheese or ever relied on the cheese. My raid Team and I are very experienced in the VoG and have beat HM templar many times. I just feel templar needs a little tweeking.
If you think I'm just a scrub and I should "get gud" then that's your opinion and I will respect it.

As a level 27 I respect you can even do the hard raid

Dude. Here's the best advice I can give you ever. 1. Make 3 characters and level them all up to 28+ 2. Complete the nightfall 3 times a week(this is to help get good gear. 3. Complete the weekly 3 times per week( this is to get strange coin to buy good weapons from xür) 4. Level up all your good guns to max. 5. Go on the bungie forums to find raid partners for hard raid. 6. Do your homework on strategies on how to beat it on hard(or come up with your own) make sure you try out different things. That's what makes it fun. 7. Quit whining and do something about it haha. I had to add that one. Sorry.

What responses did you expect. This community is extremely toxic. I haven't even read the comments but I'm assuming it's just a bunch of people calling you a scrub and saying get good. Or "lol"ing because you can't cheese I agree to some extent because I play with randoms and I'm bound to have people in the group who have never even beat him legit on normal.

If you don't have good weapons and a good team....you should not be able to clear it. That is the point. I respect you opinion......but it's not called kinda hard mode.

I've been very blessed to be able to run with an extremely solid group of people who run the hard at least 10-15x a week. Last night, we did the hard in under 45 minutes with only 2 wipes. Once for the oracles and once during the conflux. But I feel the pain of how difficult it is to do the raid. I didn't start doing any raid or nightfall until only 4 weeks ago or so. But being able to learn from friends has made this game much more enjoyable than playing "solo".

The only problem I have with the Templar fight is that it seems like the blast radius of its Aeon Maul is just insane.It feels like its impossible to take cover sometimes.Other than that you just need to use teamwork and not die.

1 ReplyIf you think the templar is the hardest part you have obviously never killed him the legit way before and you always run the raid starting at the oracles. Confluxes just before the oracles is easily the hardest part of the raid

4 RepliesAgreed the Raid is far too team dependant. First run with my 29 Hunter was completed in about 1 hour, 2 wipes at Gatekeeper. Second run was 2 hours of watching the rest of my fire team (well 3 others) licking the walls. Seriously considering not getting the DLC now, because that was such an not fun experience. Also had to do a few tiger strikes for duplicate exotic bounties (need shards), and that's a mess, so many afkers, so many bads. Bungie are cutting their own wrists with these difficulty spikes, having a group of regular friends to play with is great but for the vast majority of us whose friends have moved onto other games this is not a good experience., having to trawl through forums and DestinyLFG.

It's called hard mode for a reason not everybody is gonna be able to beat it did it twice yesterday with my usual group not too bad it just takes time it finally makes you have to coordinate because the hard raid was becoming the easiest thing the nightfalls were harder

We just had relic guy jump down and we all sniped Templar from the platform. Just have to kill oracles since u can't b cleansed

lets all be fair and admit the cheese was beneficial as it shortened the raid. heres the thing tho, we do the hard confluxes, save checkpoint at oracles and play thru. most people that raided before cheesing the templar just did it like the oracles anyway. bungie really didnt fix the cheese, they just put it back to the old cheese.

Being that I never get anything good from the Gorgon chest, and I already have my raid gear for two of my characters, I think I'll just do from the gatekeeper forward on hard. Only things Im missing are the timepiece (which I dont care for either way) and the Vex.

6 RepliesMy team did hard raid from oracles through atheon last night in approx 22 minutes. We didn't even sit up top with only the relic on the ground. It's still an incredibly easy fight if you have the slightest idea what you are doing.

7 RepliesListen, when you get past the conflux & Oracle part and you are now about to face the Templar do this, WHOLE team wipes. You will start at the very top were you have to jump down. Everyone stay up there but ONE person (Relic Holder) this needs to be your best player who can survive on his own. Now 2 people on the right of the cliff, two people on the left of the cliff and one in middle. Relic holder jumps down and grabs relic. He focuses on killing harpies and the two far back oracles while the other 5 drop the rest. Any time he has his special he calls it out "Shields about to go down" so everyone can prepare. He runs out hits the Templar and everyone unloads. The 5 people up top on the cliff are safe from ANY danger. No it's not as fast as Cheesing and now you can't get the secret chest for no teleports but in 5-10 mins he's dead. It's so easy.

The raid is the epitome of the game's challenges and mechanics. The hard raid, even more so. It's a fire team of 6 based event to test every player individually and as a team. If you guys aren't in sync, on your top game, communicating consistently and often, you're supposed to fail. Saying that the Template glitch being fixed ruined the raid is not the case. Having it go for so long without a patch ruined people's bar/standard for it, I'd what happened. What happened is people got lazy, and don't want to work for end game gear. That, or people don't understand how MMOs are supposed to work, with the grinding and skill involved. Hiding out in a corner where you're near invincible, push a boss off a cliff and not dealing any damage is not good strategy as people like to claim, but manipulating a glitch/flaw in the game's design and was rightfully patched. That's my thoughts on this in a nutshell.

It's supposed to be extremely grueling! Hell, I wish the VoG was harder! If it's not worth it then don't play. Yeah its pretty challenging. Just need a good solid team and a great strategy and you should be fine. Me and my team killed the templar within about 4 minutes on HM. 4 manned him when his life was at a quarter because 2 guys went down.

I ran the HM Raid with my friends and two randoms last night and only wiped once at the Templar fight. We did it by going to the far back-right corner of the arena. That was a good spot to bottleneck the minions, take cover from Templar barrage, cover each other's backs, prevent Templar from teleporting to the area in front of us and get good angles on Templar when his shield is down. If your team is separated and running around like chickens without heads, of course it is going to be super hard. Your team has to stick together and operate as one unit. It is difficult now mainly because many ppl have been cheesing the exploit for so long they don't remember how to beat him legit. In time, the players will learn and Templar will be a push over, even on hard.
