We began to realize that too much time was passing. My ghost reminded us and we put on our helmets to go outsize of the building. We got back to where the sparrow was and looked down upon the cabal. There is a lot less than earlier. I was still uncomfortable but Aurora was confident that we could pull it off. My hands are starting to shake. I was uncomfortable killing on accident but there was a long delay until I started to really feel the gravity of that.
My ghost was warning Aurora that we had a problem. I was so stupid but I didn't really have a choice. Most of you are seasoned warriors but me… I wasn't. I never went hunting, never killed anything, I didn't know about the psychological effects. I took off my helmet and vomited.
Luckily Aurora was already pointing her sniper rifle at the cabal because they heard me vomiting. I heard the shots ringing as the cabal was screaming, roaring. They viciously ran towards, shooting like crazy.
Aurora asked my ghost if there is anything she can do to help me. My ghost dived back into me, I heard her talking in my mind again. The voice was soothing and was helping me. My ghost asked if I remembered how it felt when I used my Palm to create the energy wave. I did remember, I still remember vividly the first time although we can access it now that were one. She asked me to visualize that energy is a ball that will explode, a grenade. I realized what the energy was, something that was rather new at the time but I was studying it, it was void light. I have power over the void. I held my hand out and started seeing it being created. All of my scientific research upon the void accumulated in my mind, I realized it was my destiny to understand more period
Aurora shook my shoulder violently. I turned around to look at her, and she screamed, "you know that your grenade is live?" I responded with incredible wit, "which I do with it? I don't want it to blow up in our face?!" She told me to throw it and I had to pull myself together but I did it! I threw the grenade! Just not very far.
Aurora yelled, "you've got to be kidding me" as the grenade's explosion became only barricade between us at the top of the sand dune and the cabal closing in. The cabal looks very confused but one of them still kept on going. It went through my grenade and fell over dead, balancing at the peak of the sand dune. Aurora had to meet on the back and told me that I did good killing one of them. I all of a sudden felt pleased with myself.
That moment was quickly ruined as the grenade disappeared. The Cabal roared with anger. Aurora switched to her hand cannon and she told me to pop out and opened fire. She popped over the tip and I followed. She wasn't blind firing but I was. I ran out of ammo and hopped back over. I was struggling to learn how to reload the gun. Aurora calmly, while still standing up over cover, gave me ammo and I dropped it a few times trying to force it in as fast as I could. I popped it back in the magazine and stepped over the sand dune.
My adrenaline was pumping, is looking everywhere for more cabal but there is no more around. Aurora patted me on the shoulder as I lowered my gun in embarrassment. She said, "the fight is over. It's okay now." I asked the obvious question why didn't she tell me it was over. My ghost came out of my body and her and Aurora started to crackup laughing. I was not pleased at first but in a few seconds I start laughing too.
We got down the sand dune and my ghost start to scan the device to connect to the link. My ghost told me that she could now summon the sparrow and started doing so, boy was I surprised at what I saw. They looked at me as I sat there still. Aurora asked why I was just standing there and my ghost answered for me, "his passed away girlfriend was an engineer, she was one of the people that made the sparrow while they were in college." Aurora touched and rubbed my arm a little while saying, "I'm sorry. I can't imagine what it's like to wake up and learn that everyone you know is dead." I was tearing underneath and it was obvious there my voice, "hey, at least I know how to drive it. I did get a chance to test a prototype."
I got on the sparrow, my ghost disappeared into me, Aurora sat behind me and put her arms around my waist, and she was leaning close to me. She asked before we left, "Will you be okay?" And I answered, "I have to be eventually. So don't worry." We started to drive off as the sun started to rise, must've looked like an old Western movie.
This has been very long guardians and we are very tired. We are leaving now but you know we will be back, we always come back so that you can help us. I don't know if we are going to be me but I hope that doesn't drive you off. We do hope that we bring you something good, but we will see. Until next time I can talk guardians, we look forward to telling you more.
