Annoying Farming "Trolls"
About a few days ago I was doing some strikes to get 9000 EXP for that particular bounty.
I ran into 2 people in a fireteam, one of them sends me a voice message (on xbox360) to "not kill the Nexus to farm engrams" (this was obviously on the Nexus strike) and as we progressed to the final area of the Nexus, these 2 idiots started to kill themselves to restart the checkpoint to start farming engrams. I hadn't played Destiny all day so I was just getting to competing the 9000 EXP bounty, and they want me to kill myself which would make me fail the bounty... I sit and do nothing while they kill themselves just to be a little funny or something, I go into my inventory and the person who sent me the voice message pushes me down into the Nexus area which I lose my shields and nearly die; almost failing my bounty that I failed earlier before this strike..he then leaves then game and so does his friend, I sent him a message which I don't remember but he then calls me and "idiot" and says he was just trying to "troll idiots like you" (me). My boyfriend then tells him he just called a girl (yea I'm a girl) an idiot and the kid makes an excuse saying he was just trying to troll.
So I get into a fight with him that he SHOULD'VE known that there are gonna be people on there doing bounties that require them to not die and that they would like to get them done and over with. He sends me a rage message, yelling and stuttering at me.
Could you, Bungie, please have an update to boot people who repeatedly kill themselves on purpose? It'd be quite helpful to avoid dumbasses like these..

I do that bounty and several other ones on earth, using the steps there as my "loot cave". Can knock out the hive majors bounty very nearby as well. They could have just finished the mission with you real quick and just came back. Never mind, that would require a little courtesy.

If this happens again you might want to point out that this is an old farming method. People generally no longer use these methods because Bungie introduced reduced engram drops for a brief time after a full team wipe.

Just a tip from another player: For that particular bounty I do the daily mission. Completion of that mission nets you (I think) 4800 to 7500 XP, depending on difficulty. That XP counts towards the 9000 XP bonus. It makes completing that particular bounty much less painful.

3 RepliesI don't see the problem. They explained what they were trying to do, and if you weren't on board, you should have just left the game and joined a different fireteam. Because you decided to be stubborn about that and "sit and do nothing", they trolled you. I don't see anything wrong with that. Its simple really, if a player isn't playing the game the way you want to, leave and find a new game. Its a hell of a lot easier to do that, than to try to change the player.

2 RepliesI do agree with this, personally. There is a game called warface with a system like this- a party member can initiate a kick vote and if the majority of the players vote yes then that particular player is kicked. It works quite well.

That does sound super annoying. Personally to complete that bounty I just go on patrol and farm. Takes some time but at least i don't have to deal with people like that. Also try making your suggestion in the #Feedback forums
