I haven't really been lucky with legendary gear. I have found maybe 10-15 in drops pure luck I think. sense I got it on September 24th. I got 4 gear and 3 legendary guns.the rest were coins ,light and blue. Better chance is upgrade the cryptarch guy to 20. Every lvl after that gets you engrams.

Blue engrams after he passes lvl 3. You could farm on Venus the place past the academy. Big area with vex and fallen.
