What games that came out recently, or relatively recently actually SUCCEEDED in living up to the hype that was built up before release?

I couldn't really say. I haven't really gotten on many hype trains and none of those were any good (ie destiny watchdoges). From what I've hear TWD has lived up to hype time and time again

Recently? Not many. Wolfenstein The New Order. Maybe Advanced Warfare, depending on if you like those types of shooters. I'm actually really disappointed with the games that came out this year.
