Well not yet, but you will soon enough. And I'm talking about modern games. Could your computer run Titanfall at an equivalent graphical setting to the xbox one, and run it at the equivalent fps rate without issues?
Microsoft and Sony have a problem, a 2 part problem to be specific, and they're trying their hardest to solve it. I haven't done any research on Sony, but here's what I do know:
-Why are people hesitant to buy the next gen consoles? There aren't enough games/exclusives to warrant the purchase.
-Why is there a lack of exclusives/games for the next gen consoles? Because not enough people have them to warrant developers to move on from the old consoles consoles.
I believe the original profit margin on the $500 xbox one package was $20, that's 4%... Take out the kinect, and you can sell it for $400, probably for a similar profit percentage. They are currently selling xbox one packages with 1-2 games for $350. I don't know the contractual agreements that allow this to happen, but going off of base prices they're likely losing a lot of money getting those xbox ones out there.
Hats off to you if you can figure out why they would sell a product at a negative profit margin, because you'll be one of the intelligent few that can do it on your own.
The faster everyone upgrades, the faster we see increased quality of games.
