The information was available before the game launched. As you weren't paying attention you better brace yourself - dlc 2 will have exclusive content too.
Yeah it sucks but you bought the game knowing there was exclusive stuff.

Never said anything on the box, so now I have to nerd it up just to check if I'm gonna be shafted?!

I read reviews these days before I buy just about anything. Toasters, USB cables, phone covers, TVs you name it. Remaining wilfully uninformed in the internet age is your own fault. :p

To be honest I watched reviews of Destiny and none of them mentioned it. I knew this kind of thing happens on CoD, but I haven't played that since WaW, so it fell of my memory

I don't know how you missed it. It sucks but assuming they do the same for the next dlc there will be 3 strikes that suddenly drop into the rotation for XB users when the deal ends. As long as they have a vanguard strike option for the higher level we're at then they should still be relevant and fun.

No, don't have to 'nerd' it up, but it is always smart to be a well informed consumer.

True, but I genuinely feel that information of that nature should be on the box / packaging. I also checked MS store and no mention there either for the digital version. Many parents / grand parents will be buying destiny for younger relatives and they wouldn't know where to begin checking if the game has cut content or not. Timed exclusive or console exclusive etc etc. As a gamer of 28 it is a sad state that I must now trawl the internet or gaming publications just to check for this type of info.

Oh I agree with you here. It should be on the box. But, on Destiny's box it says that it is a game with 'rich cinematic storytelling' which is an outright lie. You need a road map, a compass, a ruler and an outside source (a website to read cards with information/lore that should be told *in game*)to even try to make sense of this story and you can't really because there is no story to speak of. And it's because I feel the company lied (and it is not the first) that I would rather scour the internet to get as much info as I can before buying the game. And even then it's a crap shoot. :/ You are so right, it is sad. :(
