WTF Exclusive DLC now?
As frustrating as it is for xbox users not having any exclusive content found on Playstation (extra pvp map, extra strike, extra exotics) and also all the PS4 events like the the ninja bounty, it must be really frustrating for all the creative people at Bungie to have the execs get in the way of their creation.
Now it was announced today that Playstation will be getting another exclusive strike with the new dlc (and I can only assume same will go with the House of Wolves dlc) increasing the number of strikes to 9. This sucks because xbox owners who have spent the same amount of money on destiny and the season pass only get 7 and strikes are a key point in the replayability of Destiny. Bungie messed up because of the deal with Playstation they are hurting their customers on xbox which will result in player drop off and thus not being able to sustain the number of players desired for their 10 year plan. I really like this game and I am an xbox one owner who is starting to feel the fatigue. With all the great options for games, I doubt i will be able to make it 1 full year to get the content that shouldn't have been taken away in the first place.
PS4 exclusives only benefit Playstation (not Playstation owners) because its designed to get people who either don't have a system and are using this game as a justification to purchase a console or the people who have both to buy it for their system. Gamers lose because of all these deals (Xbox lost on Destiny but PS lost on Tomb Raider worse imo), Programmers/Artist/Writer lose because the things they worked hard on are purposely not distributed to everyone. Sony and Microsoft win because people are forced to choose.
I wish the console wars were more about developing new exclusive ips (Gears, Last of Us) and not cutting content (Tiger Woods releasing 19 dlc courses for $50 same day the game came out) or timed releases (cod). As a side note, retailer exclusives need to stop too.
I hope bungie is addressing this issue and coming up with ways to rectify the exclusivity mistake. A few suggestions I have are:
- xbox events (along with ps events)
- additional free weapons/ armor (diluting the benefits ps owners get)
- additional free add on strikes or variants (different enemy placement would do wonders)
- modified strike playlist (playlist should have special currency and maybe less weapon xp)
---- example: only green/purple ammo drops from enemies (rocket strike would be so fun)
---- example: weapon type buffs (scout riffle would be OP for the strike)
- more venders that accept vanguard marks (maybe some that accept a third currency that you get from my modified strike playlist suggestion)
- confirmation that after the contract is over ps and xbox will have the same content
Please feel free to add on to my list and hopefully bungie will fix this so that we don't see this as common business practices in the future.

No locked strikes or content, why should i care its just one strike and two (very good?) exotics but since the biggest flaw in destiny is the lack of content I'm appalled by this.. Day of release, ok i get it you are giving Microsoft the finger for Halo, but all future dlcs as well? Bungie cmon i thought we were friends, i love you. You made halo.. I feel like im being cheated on.. Ps. Can we please stop some fanboy war here? No we(xbox) are not whining just saying that paying the same for a dlc is strange..try to see it from our perspective cmon. Empathy people...

Is this concept off exclusive content a new thing? Why are so many unaware of its basic premise? You know the simple and only way to beat this? Buy both consoles and buy every exclusive game to its respective console. If not then accept that some games will favour xbox, some ps4 others for both. It's fact, life and understandable. Pack whining.

If you are going to complain about not getting something PS4 has, add in there the little things like 1080hd. ... or compare system hardware. You paid the same amount of money for a crap system. That's all. And I'm not biased this is my first Playstation and I made the jump for obvious reasons......the new systems, when compared side by side what you are getting for your money, it's a no brainer this go around. Sell your xbox because it has no plans for the future. Get a PS4 because this go round it is better. They made the controller bigger, online play is just as good as it was on xbox if not better.

I wouldnt say were necessarily getting less than playstation becaise were still getting all that exclusive crap were just not getting it till fall next year and im assuming well juat be given it all in an update, so hey it might be nice lol, little extra content before destiny 1's life cycle ends and bungie announces the sequel

1 ReplyWe both end up paying the same price for the same DLC ,only you get more stuff (not much more but still frustrating) just because you have it on the PS. even if it was the other way around it's still messed up. I won't get it for fall of 2015. I shouldn't have to buy a PS just to enjoy more content for something i payed as much as a PS console user. I'm still looking forward to the DLC since i oddly do enjoy the game. and no saying because you have a inferior console is not an argument and yes they have been announcing but it doesn't make it anymore right.

Also by the time Xbox users can get the exotic gear and stuff that Playstation users can get they will have become obsolete so will only have aesthetic or collectable value

1 ReplyI didn't read the whole post and I don't have to, Xbox has gotten a lot of exclusives in the past, COD, HALO, Sunset Overdrive. Sony just happened to pitch in and grab Destiny at the right time, so don't whine or complain because it will get you nowhere. And besides you'll get the DLC in a year, unlike all of the Xbox exclusives that psn users will never have

It's debatably more powerful (not really a debate considering it's just a simple fact, really). The safe bet is to go where the money is and that happens to be Sony. Though they need to get their shit together concerning a lot of network issues and their messaging system, otherwise they got some splainin' to do!

8 RepliesAs an XB1 owner since launch, it is infuriating to see my Limited Edition purchase get me less value than the Limited Edition purchase of a PS4 owner just because I made a decision to buy an XB1 10 months before Destiny came out. And for my DLC to be devalued FOR A WHOLE YEAR? If you give out free content to PS4 owners related to the main game, fine, though the duration is ridiculous. But to apply exclusives within DLC content without announcing far in advance? That's garbage. That's bad business. You're making fools of yourselves in the video game community and losing so much credibility to both PS4/PS3 owners and XB1/360 owners. Multiplatform games should be treated equally on each system, and any timed exclusive content should be for a few months at most.

You know doesn't mean you guys should pay less because you get one less strike and few less weapons. They probably had it planned that it only came with one strike and the exclusive stuff was just bonus content for the same price.
