At first I thought it was going to be one of "those threads", but after reading your posting, as well as those who have posted a reply - I have to congratulate everyone and say thank you for a well thought out and constructive opinion.
It sounds like you have a good deal of experience at running the raid and you have written out some really good advice.
Not only have you captured some really good points, you actually take the time to explain why it matters and why it is important in helping to make a successful raid.
Unfortunately, I'm probably one of a small majority of players that have not done the VoG for various reasons, but I do have to give you kudos for item # 7. I think that is probably some of the best advice that I've seen posted on the forums.
When (and if) I ever get the opportunity to take on the raid, that I am able to find players like yourself that is willing to take the time and help the party succeed.
One thing that I'm curious about, and if I may ask - why did you not mention anything about understanding your role in the party?
The only reason why I ask is because I've seen countless posting that talking about knowing how to play your role on the team.
I tend to play more of a supportive role, but I'm not afraid to jump into the fray when and where I'm needed.
Again, thank you for a great topic and thank you for presenting your thoughts in a clear and level headed manner.
We as a community need more threads like this one.

Hey thanks for the Feedback! I have only played the VoG three times actually. Completed it only once. I didn't say anything about understanding your role because that should be explained to you when you join your team. You should also get the opportunity to try out and learn the different roles so that you can become fully competent and well rounded. If you like the Thorn hand cannon then you may consider joining my new Clan, Thorny Guardians.
