Dear Bungie Seers of the Norns, Praise for Xur ! I find I've become a huge fan of Xur as a character. * Sure....Xur is very popular due to his role as Exotic Weapon Marketeer for The Nine....but I find he's very interesting for other reasons besides ! Spend ten minutes in his presence and he's likely to croak some mysterious statements that imply vast forces at work behind the scenes ! Major: "Xur, buddy - I'll buy you lunch and in return you spill the beans on what's going on "OUT THERE" okay ?" Xur: " ( I cannot for....) I am an Agent of the Nine..... ( However....) THEY wish to speak with you !" Major: "Really ??? ! ! ! Well here's my Guardian's number at the Tower ! Why don't they just call me up or set up a meeting ? Xur: "......Conditions are very different there..... THEY are VERY LARGE..... ! Major: "Oh,......................Hey why are you hunched over like that ?" Xur: ...... "The light from this sun.....is very heavy..." Major: ".......Okayyyyy....." Xur: "Some of the cells in this body were once human....." Major: " WHOA.....DUDE ! That's either too much information.....or not nearly enough ! So you've been through the whole resurrection / rebirthing / reincarnation process too huh ? HEY !.......We've got so much in common ! Xur: "...We rose from the Dust, burrowed into flesh and became something new......" Major: " EEW ! .......Except for that part.......and the whole Tentacle / No Face thing.." ".....Are you sure you're not a Ring-Wraith ?" Xur: " .....I am an Agent of the Nine....." Major: "...Let me try again...are you sure you won't have a drink with me so you can spill some more secrets ?" Xur: "......I think the cells of this body are already dying...." Major: "....I......see....." Xur: "My movements are somewhat dependent on planetary alignments......." Major: ".....Well I've got to get back out in the field. Nice chatting with you Xur !" Xur: "....Goodbye..." Praise to the writers of this fascinating character ! I regret that it seems unlikely that my characters will get the chance to actually ask Xur questions, witness him arrive at the tower in a disctinctly alien ship, discover clues, find answers, travel to the mysterious dimension of his patrons, learn of their agenda, solicit their direct help, find the price for their aid ( if any ), go on an epic quest to deliver said goods, and then witness a colossal space battle as they manifest to help the Guardians illuminate the Darkness into Oblivion ( in Bablyon 5 style ! ). I hope we'll have more opportunites to interact with Xur and other very interesting characters as the Destiny adventure unfolds !
