I was making a new warlock and got through the 4th mission or so. I was level 4 with my friends who are all high level like my main. I decided to test Iron Banner because last night I really didn't see much of a difference playing with my lvl 30, it felt like regular crucible. So I joined up with my friends to play some Iron Banner. I was expecting to walk in and get one shotted with an ankle shot, instead I was baffled at what happened. Watch the video, and let me know what you think.
Edit- Here is my second video as well, this was my third game and did even better than my first. http://youtu.be/h2rUdKnB_4M Check it out and let me know what you think! Also thanks Deej for replying at least, I was not expecting that. Although you did leave us with your usual vague wait till the update answer. Please don't just address it, please actually fix it!
A big shout out to my fireteam, thanks for helping me make this video ClearVue, AssasiNinja187x, ojndeath1, DukeNukem786, and xxKunntryxx

I'm guessing this is miscomunication. A lot of people expected to romp stomp people lower then them. It didn't help that bungie was vague on the description of this. DeeJ will probably give the long explination of how stats work. Honestly i'm noticing a difference. My level 29 hunter can't insta kill with a throwing knife to the head on most titans unless their bar is below half. I also feel like i'm dying faster then normal because of my really low armor rating. (i invested my passives in agility and recovery.) If i had to guess the difference in IB is no more then 3-4 bullets. Which deff does matter especially when you use a single shot or pulse rifle. I don't think damage is directly messed with either. Just armor rating and level. Level's artifically effect damage output in PvE. So to an extent it does in PvP IB. Just not as drastically as it can get in PvE when you are shooting at things higher then you.
-
Yeah, I figured it felt exactly identical to the basic Crucible matches..
-
Interesting... Bungie screwed up again.
-
I hope they don't give us that bullshit "power matters but so does skill" excuse. Seriously? Have they even tested these things before they release to public? They stated that 3x level 8 players would have to work together and work strategically to kill a single level 12?....welp looks like you -blam!-ed up Bungie, you can just spray high levels and also bullet sponge just as much as any other player. Skill doesn't mean higher levels still have to shoot 6 bullets to the head to remove shield and health. A level 30 like myself should be able to kill a level 4 with one single bullet to remove shield and health. Get your shit together Bungie, or you won't be seeing this thing passed a year.
-
It's stuff like this that is causing so many people to hate Bungie. I've been a defender of the game since launch, but more and more proof is coming out that is making me start to hate the game. Between this video and the one the other day showing the guy getting into Terminus, a supposed location for the second DLC, House of Wolves. Bungie has a lot of explaining to do. I mean come on. They want the franchise to last ten years, how about the fact that the first game had been in development for close to ten years. What the hell were they doing?
-
This is just embarrassing bungie
-
Skill vs gear, skill wims . but yes bungie is pretty much lying about this whole event.

Edited by Bluefoxx3: 10/9/2014 3:28:03 AMI'm wondering what happened to all the weapons and gear that were part of the Iron Banner armory during the beta. What we have now is just one weapon which is a special weapon, a chest piece, a class item, 2 emblems and 2 shaders. Like seriously? Such a small amount of items to choose from, I stopped doing the Iron Banner after seeing just how small the selection of items to choose from were. Crap rewards just like the Queens Wrath event. When are we going to get future events like these with armories as large as Vanguard and the Crucible? How about a larger selection to the FWC, Dead Orbit and New Monarchy groups?

Edited by Drak: 10/9/2014 5:30:34 AMYou weren't even running around, any scrub can sit in a spot in the map and hold it down with a gun. I agree that IB is the same as normal crucible but the video doesn't prove anything

Edited by TitanKnight: 10/9/2014 2:17:01 AMOnly reason I tolerate this PVP focused event is to only get the legendary greaves for my titan. And the only reason for that is because every single legendary leg piece for the titan has that fat plastic thingy that makes my Titan look like as if he was wearing pirate boots. I want it to look like a damn heavy armored soldier not a space pirate. What happened to the customization Bungie?
-
To go on record, with moat guns in PvP you attack DOEANT matter neither does your armor, the impact on a weapon and the area you hit the enemy are how your damage is determined in PvP for the most part a white hand cannon with almost max impact will deal more damage than a legendary HC with its impact at about half the bar
-
Thank you!
-
wow this is bull shit and makes me not want to play..
LEVEL ADVANTAGES ENABLED Equip your most powerful gear. The Attack and Defense ratings for your weapons and your armor will be crucial to victory.
come on Bungie gezzus -blam!-ing christ either you guys are -blam!-ing stupid, or think we are. destinys not gonna make it 6 months at this pace, let along 10 years.
-
Just another thing wrong with this game... my list is getting so long now.
-
I thought it was fairly obvious it was no different from regular crucible when I could still 5 shot people per usual with my SR. This hammers the point home that it's an absolute joke though. I won't be wasting my time playing in the playlist anymore.
-
Honestly I think I think it needs to be bracketed by level, the fact that your legendary gear cam be outclassed by a completely new players level three. Cydonia feels like a slap in the face, also, from the perspective of someone who's played all three classes I feel deadlocks are massively OP I think they need to redo hunters special with an air on at least ONE of the subclasses Hunter specials can't be modded to make hardly any difference here there other classes have a plethora of ways Thurman combo and very cheaply plug someone with a blind shot have the map away
-
dude your video just proves my point that it doesn't matter if your a high level with maxed defense, if a level 4 can either kill you or make you turn tail and run, theres needs to be a change to that. i didn't step foot in the crucible till i hit level 20 and had all rare gear and weapons.
-
I do agree with you that iron banner should be more challenging for lower levels. But I do find it also to a bit more challenging then crucible.

Edited by paraffin alien: 10/9/2014 2:05:12 AMdestiny the whole game is bullshit reached level 29 bored the arse off me oh to all you tools that are buying the dlc you nipple heads

Everyone has a shield in IB.. so no they would not ever one shot you no matter what their level was or what weapon they have. That sheild has the same damage reistance no matter what level a person is. And weapons that do more than full shield do not always penetrate to do that remaining damage to the player. So does not matter if you doo 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 damage a shot. It would still take two to kill somoene.. one for the sheild and one for them. IB was not ever about being a god and being invinclbe and not being able to be hurt at all by lower players jsut because of gear and weapons.

OP has a good shot, and is team shooting most his opponents. I wanna see you do this with more 1v1 opportunities than sticking with your squad(even though that's the best way to play). I saw many instances where your gun went full clip on a guy without hitting headshots and you barely kill them. My 300 atk hand cannon is 2-3 shot kills, and 1 headshot kill on lower levels

Edited by Rappo000: 10/9/2014 3:35:46 AMNice video OP. You made your point well. Iron Banner is a joke.

The number of idiot trolls in the comment section is amazing. These people have not else to do that troll every post...
-
How watched the video and I can't believe you went on a streak at level 6. Yeah so that's that the iron banner it's not really what it Says it is and for that good sirs I say BOOOOOO!
-
Wow a level 5 was able to play a good match against a bunch of chumps. The game must be broken. Iron banner is a sham. Bungie is a front for the Illumnati.
