It's getting to be a common thing now during the Lvl 24 Strikes that I see these kids race as fast as they can through the Strike usually hopping on their speeder bypassing the first several mobs of lower level enemies which is fine but then they continue on and bypass as many of the Lvl 24 enemies as they can just to get to the final boss quicker.
Why? The boss gives you nothing and your chances of getting anything worthwhile from the end game roll are poor odds for the amount of time it takes to complete each Strike. Your best shot of getting a Legendary Engram drop or at least multiple blue Engrams to give you a chance at Legendary gear and to rank up the Cryptarch is to kill every Lvl 24 enemy up to the boss because that is where all of my Legendary Engrams have come from and I get at least half of my blue Engrams from Mob drops to go along with what I get in the end game roll.
The Lvl 24 Tiger Strikes since the last patch appear to have a higher drop rate than the normal game modes at least in the areas you're facing Lvl 24 enemies, and so bypassing them to finish the Strike faster is just decreasing your chance of getting multiple drops. There's little other reason to be grinding Lvl 24 Strikes in that manner because you can earn Vanguard rep faster farming Patrols, Vanguard Marks faster farming Public Events, and if you need a bunch of Strikes for a Bounty run the Lvl 8 Devil's Lair on Earth and get them done quick.
So don't be that guy that runs way out ahead of everyone else. Don't waste you and your teammates chances for more Legendary/Exotic drops. It doesn't take but an extra 5 minutes or so to clear out all the Lvl 24 enemies your bypassing between you and the Boss when you do it as a group.

RNG is RNG. You have the same chance of getting a Legendary drop from mobs in the level 8 Devil's Lair. Rushing allows you to get dem sweet RNG lewts from the reward table instead, which is totally more efficient... probably... maybe... not...
-
its because they want the marks not the chance at a damn engram genius
-
got legy engram directly from nexus today..
-
Rushing through the level 24 vanguard playlist for an hour with a few friends, we get quite a few strikes done, and get much better loot per time played, than grinding through enemies that don't drop anything after dying to one shot lol. But hey - if you want to waste your time collecting two extra green engrams over the people that roared through the strike, feel free. Just know that you are absolutely wasting your time lol.
-
Most of the legendary's I have received have been from low level mob drops. I pretty much never get a legendary from the rewards screen. It's starting to piss me off that people just run through everything and miss all the experience and chances for loot.
-
Thank you for this.....everytime I get in a strike the people just try to rush through it......it is quite annoying
-
Well said, often I am way behind two noob racers as Im killing all the trash mobs. Many times I have received better gear doing this than anything after the boss loot roll. Looks like a few sheep copying others instead of being clever and seeing the bigger picture;)
-
So running a 10 minute mission for 6 marks is slower than running into a Public event every half hour for 4 vanguard marks? You sir are an idiot.
-
it is all dependent on your random number generator which is pretty much luck in the game and u get that when u create a character and every character will be different my lvl 28 warlock only ever gets greens but my lvl 14 warlock gets nothing but blues and purples if your not getting good drops try making a new chacter

Edited by goeagles3973: 10/5/2014 7:10:40 PMThis why i want all strikes to have a solo option. Let everybody play at their own pace.
-
People are lazy and want instant gratification.
-
I'll keep speeding through. Thx.
-
I usually speed through them for the vanguard marks.
-
I had a member in my strike team get a exotic weapon. A fusion rifle of somesorts. Or 5 rewards sometimes at the rewards screen. Anyone else see this?
-
Rushing = Get more missions done = More encrypts = win. Taking your time doesn't increase the chances of receiving a legendary encrypt.
-
People can play however they want. The reward system is random is really just a numbers game. The more engrams you decode, the more likely you'll hit the jackpot. But if you want the best rewards, from my perspective, that's done via the weekly nightfall. I did it 3x this week and got 2 exotic weapons, including Ice Breaker, and 7 legendary shards. If you aren't a level to do that, then perhaps hooking up with a friend who can carry you would help. The lowest reward I saw on all the runs was 5 coins.
-
I doubt the areas where you flip into public places have the increased drop rate or you would just see people joining strikes and staying out there farming more often as they continuously respawn. They also do not get the heroic/skull modifiers.
-
Lol not always. I did level 8 Devils lair for a bounty. While waiting for ghost to deactivate the barrier I had 2 purples and 6 blues drop
-
Diablo 2 Rush !!! Baal Run-01 I want the end reward, I could care less of your RNG low % legendary drop
-
Yes. Dont be that retard who stays behind to kill all the level 12 enemies. No point doing that. It DOES NOT improve your chances to get a legendary engram. If you are lucky, you will get it. Doesnt matter if you kill 20 or 100 enemies. I am the guy who skips all the unnecessary stuff and mobs. If you want to stay behind, that is your choice.
-
There has to be a balance the community can find. I honestly don't care either way, I just get frustrated when I load up a strike and the other 2 guys take the opposite approach and we have no unity, then someone quits. I think the speeders don't really belong, but the trio should shoot everything that's in there way without stopping. I just try and go with the flow and avoid the drama right now.
-
I have actually gotten legendaries off random trash mobs I have killed along the way. I've also gotten max loot rewards and just this morning had a 2nd exotic drop to me actually. If you want to rush through then dont bitch about the members you leave behind that may end up having to kill their way through what you stirred up. Rush rush rush mentality of today, no patience.
-
I was not aware of this for some reason thank you.
-
It's an annoying routine -.-
-
Clearly this person has never had a finish 25 strikes bounty. Clearly this person should find a spawn spot in patrol and waste their own time.
-
legendary engrams are sort of pointless by now anyways...you should be geared enough that only raid drops will help your light level by now
