Bungie needs to add a ranged titan super to Destiny, why?? because every class in Destiny has a ranged super besides for Titans. Warlocks can get midrange kills with the nova bomb, or get buffs with sun-singer, and Hunters can use Golden Gun. This lack of a projectile super becomes especially apparent during boss-fights.
The reason this came up was because I was playing the weekly heroic strike with three defender titans when the Summoning pits was the weekly heroic strike, so I decided to switch to Striker codex. However Fist of Havoc's attack just seemed to just roll off Phogoth instead of damaging him, and he would immediately counter by insta-killing me. So when I ask for a ranged super, I don't mean "long-range" or even "medium range", I just mean a projectable offensive super which can be used to damage a boss, while the player can still be far enough away from the boss not to get blasted by the bosses proximity attack (Some examples of proximity attacks would be; Phogoth and Archon priest both doing an insta-kill stomp, and Fallen Walkers releasing Arc grenades).
Also this 3rd subclass should be a solar damage subclass, because Titans only have Void and Arc subclasses for now. Also warlocks and hunters would be getting subclasses for their respective missing elemental type as well.

Hear hear !

What if he got an attack similar to the blade dancer. He turns red(solar damage) and charges at enemies with no weapons but his fists and shoulder charge.
-
Titans next subclass has to be solar, so maybe like the other solar subclasses he'll glow. Ranged attack could be like spears or something lol
-
Hey man, I'll trade you Golden Gun for Ward of Dawn any day.
-
actually I tried FoH on a few bosses and it actually counts as a miss. and bosses like phogoth auto counter it so its basically useless. im thinking a solar clap would be cool. kinda like FoH area effect but comes out in the form of a bubble to help with it against bosses
-
While not an actual suggestion. I kinda thought if the titans possible subclass could be the following: A solar charged attack similar to that of the blast that is emitted from the relic when you use both bumpers. A semi slow, or low velocity singularly, like a fireball that travels in a straight path. Just a thought tho.

Ward of dawn with the buff to damage perk, sorted.
-
You just are not giving the Titan credit where credit is due. FoH is by far the best super in tight areas. It's almost impossible to kill a Titan mid super where you can easily shotgun a blade dancer with one hit. Also the weapons of light perk destroys bosses. It gives your a large damage boost that lasts for a long time. Add that to a heavy weapon or a well placed sniper shot and it easily does more damage than all of the other long range supers.
-
The ward of dawn has saved my team's hides a lot, thank you! Try reviving some poor soul with no cover. Fight a horde of sneaky fallen or vex up close without its added defense boost, or the FoH. Cause in case you forgot, bosses have peons. Interrupt-PEONS!!

Titans super beats bladedancer in close quarters combat so it's debate able which super is better. As for ranged thing titans are more of a tanky class so in my humble opinion it's fair. I'm a bladedancer and I'm stuck on adds on the boss but I know my roles just as important as the next guys.

This just in! Not every class has to be the same. If you want something another class has, play that class!
-
Here is an Idea, the titan turns into a real tank and rolls around blowing people up.
-
I agree. I find myself using my bubble's weapon damage increase buff when on bosses
-
1: Get the helmet of Inmost Light and level it up (read it's special) 2: Choose the skill where FoH sends forth 3 or 4 shockwaves. 3: ??? 4: Profit with ranged FoH. :D
-
Its a TITAN. Not a Gunslinger. The very definition of the class is to be the big dude that stands in the middle of the battlefield, surrounded by ennemies, dead ennemies.
-
yes it has, it's called use a hunter or warlock
-
You make a good point. They need a ranged super.
-
But then they wouldn't be a Titan.
-
the fist of havoc is already ranged, or do you stop running when using it?
-
-
The bubble can be used to buff a teams attack or defence. Besides Titan is a get up close and punch them in the face kinda class, a ranged special would completely contradict that.
-
Oh just shut up. Stop complaining. Titans specials are both good, especially the shield one. You're fine, deal with it.

Edited by WarMachineXL: 10/4/2014 10:32:24 PMWould love to see a ranged solar Titan. The hunter and Warlock have the same armor defense rating as a Titan. They can get the same or higher armor/regen. Titan is not the tank class when everyone is the tank class. Having a tiny bubble that a ton of attacks can go through dosnt make the Titan a tank. The Titans shield should of been a void riot shield.

The Fist of Havoc is ranged when you use Death From Above.
-
Bubble + Weapons of Light + Power enhancer for the latter. Everyone gets a DMG buff close to 50% for a considerable amount of time, plus the bubble. That seems like enough of a ranged super to me.
-
I don't think you'd need a whole new class. If they made it to where you could shoot outside from inside the bubble. That would be immensely helpful especially in situations like the nexus or even the raid.
