Does anyone actually use PlayStation Now? It seems like a huge bonfire for money to me. I will never rent a game by the hour that's ridiculous! And the price to have it for x days is the same price, or more, as many of the games you can get to keep and download for ever on your PS!
I am I alone or is this a scam?
Edit: capitalized PlayStation Now just to make this look better.
Edit: I do own a PS if that's not obvious and I enjoy it.
Edit: I actually like the idea of being able to play classics and try a variety of games by renting. But with the prices they are offering I will not bite! I think, as people have suggested, there should be a subscription. I also think it would be good to have a PlayStation Plus Ultra ( or whatever it could be called) which would include the renting service Now provides.
I also changed the the title.

They did say they were editing the prices when it's fully released.
-
I've been saying it's a scam since it was announced. But all the fanboys were like: "Nooooooooo!!!! It'll be amazing and will be the death of exbawks!!!!" At the most gentle of descriptions, it's vastly overpriced. At the worst, it's a desperate cash-grab by a debt-ridden Sony Corporation.

Gamefly. problem solved

Bump.

Newsflash! All businesses/companies are scams! Why you ask? They ALL want your money! You don't exactly see advertisements saying "Come buy this product x. It's utter garbage! Get em while they last!" It's the marketers that polish shit!
-
sony likes to rip off other console features anyways not to be an xbot, but look at the picture
-
I read this as "Playstation: Now a Scam"
-
Or you can just simply not rent any of it
-
-
It's hardly a scam. A scam is when you get tricked into spending money. With this you can easily see how much of a rip off it is. If you think it's overpriced then just don't spend any money on it. Not a scam at all.
-
I love the idea. There's going to be a game I'm wanting to play and I will pay to play it. How many F'ing games did we rent from blockbuster you dumb shit. Don't forget the past

I haven't seen recent prices but last I remember the pricing was completely broken. I would pay 30 USD a month for a subscription if the library were big enough and I had unrestricted access, of course the library would have to be older games (I'd say about 2 years from the given year)
-
Not a *scam*...because they are giving you what you've paid for. But their service is WAAAAYYYY over-priced. It's in its beta phase, so Sony is just knocking around trying to see "what the market will bear" (what people are willing to pay). They are trying to see if they can get people to pay the same sort of money they would if they went to a store and rented the actual disc. But that model is obsolete. PSN will lose money until it figures out that their price structure needs to be a monthly subscription fee that gives you unlimited access to the entire library. Sort of like Pandora, Netflix or Hulu. I certainly won't have any interest in using it until its price structure changes.
-
Dude they're was an option to rent dynasty warriors 7 for a while (I can't remember exactly how long) and it was like $24.99. Pre-owned is $12.99 at gamestop used.
-
Could be the start of something great. Instead of paying for each game they need to make it netflix with video games. All games, unlimited, for under 10 bucks a month. That would be a huge success and everyone and their little brothers would sign up for it. More people would probably even buy ps4's because of it. Like do I want to rent a game thats the same prive to buy at eb games? HELL NO. Come on sony
-
This is still in beta testing so this will change soon, pricing will change, and Sony said they are looking into subscription plan!

Edited by d 6d7565727465: 9/8/2014 2:33:49 AMPlaying PS3 titles on the Vita sounds great, but it's too damn expensive, I love the idea but the current price is rough. Paying about $10.00 a month would be perfect.
-
Honestly I think it's only for the people who want to play the game "really" bad.
-
It should be more appealing to those that don't actually own a console. Makes more sense to impose a subscription based model like netflix, though. Maybe 20/month? Seems fair to me, if the library is there.
-
It needs a sub fee instead.
-
i don't know why but i never liked playstation
-
I was a private beta tester so I got a lot of games for free. Even though it was free. The quality wasn't good, I played dead island riptide and sniper ghost warrior 2 and the graphics looked bad, I have excellent Internet connection. And sometimes my character would randomly spin making it hard to control. And now to still play those games I have to pay some ridiculous price.
-
I have nothing against Sony, in fact i just got a Vita recently and I'm getting my PS4 on the 9th, but PS now...........That looks, sounds, and if it had a taste, like shit. I will never spend money on such a terrible service. Those rental prices are too damn high for the value.

I would give my left nipple to play a Kingdom Hearts title on ps now. RIP my old ps3, you are missed. :'(
